2011-07-02 - Nashville, Tennessee - Vanderbilt Stadium

setlist

Performance notes: This is just the second U2 concert ever in Nashville, 29 years and 7 months after the first. It is also the first U2 concert anywhere in the state of Tennessee since 14 May 1997, Memphis. The snippet of The Wanderer is quite lengthy, running to two verses. At the end of the show, Bono pulls a member of the crowd on stage to play guitar; he performs All I Want Is You with the band, dedicating it to his wife. Performance

What a show!! Everyone sounds excellent. Bono’s voice is strong, the instruments are loud and clear.

The ZooTV run is great. Lots of little flourishes here and there. I Will Follow is excellent as well. The Wanderer really should probably be counted as more than merely a snippet. Bono sings it with a gravelly tone and apologizes to Johnny Cash after. The first half of the main set is the strongest but the remainder does not disappoint in the slightest. Bono chants “where were you when they crucified my lord?” during Moment of Surrender. A fan plays guitar on a short, impromptu All I Want Is You to close.

Sound

The sound is great, no complaints.
Recording: Audience microphone - 4.5 stars

Audience

They sound quite good!

Overall

Excellent recording with superb sound and a great setlist. 360 really was the band at a later-career peak. There’s a great range of songs in the set and they all sound great.

Highlights:
- Even Better Than the Real Thing
- The Fly
- Until the End of the World
- I Will Follow
- I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For/The Wanderer
