The capture of the aac. stream with TotalRecorder in 48kHZ FLAC
format was done to ensure a proper conversion from Apple to Windows
encoding.
The recording itself is steady and above average soundwise. Definitely
compared to other mixlr-broadcasts, but also compared to previous
recordings of mysteriousdays. What is - perhaps - less favourable is
the noise and screamy surrounding of MD's recording position.
Anyway, at this point I think it is the most consistent recording of
NYC#4 that has been made widely available. A show with in fact quite
many goodies, including a very long snippet of Led Zeppelin's Good Times,
Bad Times.
BIG THANKS to MYSTERIOUSDAYS for the live broadcast from the venue
and her recent consent in making the (re-)mastered recording available
for U2START.

Performance

Not only was this my first U2 show, it was my first concert PERIOD! And boy, what a first concert! Bono and the boys were fantastic. A few slip ups from Bono here and there, but nothing that detracted anything. In fact, it may have enhanced the show. The only thing was that Edge seemed tired and didn't move around as much as I've seen him in video. He was probably still tired after Wednesday so I don't hold that on him. The music was still great and the band's energy still made me ecstatic.

Sound

For a 3 Star recording, it's really good.

Apart from some music buzz dimming the sound just a little bit, you can still hear the band clear. My only tiny, tinny nitpick would be in The Electric Co, where it skips most of the 2nd verse and the 2nd Chorus entirely. It's on no fault of the recorder as tech glitches happen all the time, plus it doesn't detract the experience for me. For what it is, a job still well done. I still like it for the novelty of having a boot of my first ever U2 show.

Shout out to Big Girl and Mysterious Days.

Audience

Maybe it was where me and my friend was positioned, but overall, this audience was 50/50. The biggest annoyance was most of them looking at their phones, some of them standing still even in the most upbeat of songs. Even stayed still during Streets. Others were also drunk there too, even saw a drunk guy near us, though he never engaged with us. Some were jumping and dancing. We SO should've hung out with that crowd. Being that this was my first concert, I've definitely taken mental notes.

Overall

Once we got over the drunk, static and cell phone members of the crowd, we really enjoyed ourselves! The band were all great, phenomenal and nothing short of inspiring. A night I will never forget as long as I live.

Highlights:
-Seeing Bono in person in all his Irish glory! As well as the band.
-The energy of the first four songs. Especially Electric Co.
-The stage set up, innovations and intimacy within the venue.
-Lucifer's Hands and Sweetest Thing
-The set list and the whole show
-The Wanderer Intermission

Lowlights:
-Edge looking exhausted (though he still rocked the house down).
-Some drunk concert goers with their phones and standing around too much, as opposed to getting lost in the music.
-Wish some UF favorites like Wire, Promenade or ASOHC was played but I still loved what I got from the band set list wise.
