Performance

Energetic boys playing like their lives depend on it. Bono is so enthused it sounds like he's about to explode - so a typical early 80s show, then. Overall, it's a terrific showing of their drive.

11 O'Clock Tick Tock is a properly long, heavy version. Into the Heart is quite strong. Bono says Another Time, Another Place is for dancing. He goes all in on The Electric Co. Edge comes through very well in a terrific version of Stories For Boys. The Stories For Boys-Boy/Girl-Out of Control sequence is brilliantly done, although Bono fumbles over some of the OOC lyrics. Bono sings a little extra intro to Twilight, and Edge's solo is blistering. The second IWF ends the show on a high.

Sound

You really couldn't complain. Sounds terrific.
Recording: FM Aerial Broadcast - 4.5 stars

Audience

Bono jokes that the festival crowd shouldn't know who U2 are, but they certainly seem to know them - and love them, too! They're not too prominent in the mix on much of the recording, but they still sound good! Check them out after OOC.

Overall

Very strong show. You get to hear U2 really building their reputation as a fundamentally live band.
