Performance

Great but not spectacular- the second best of this 3-night stay at the Rosemont Horizon.

"October" was performed very well here, a track that doesn't usually "stand out" on live recordings from this era to me. Also, Bono's guitar is very audible on "With or Without You", and the performance is an ultimate highlight of the show.

Bono was having some problems with his voice these 3 nights in Illinois, but he really pushed it and gave it his all this night.

Sound

Hardest thing about the show to like. It wasn't terrible- I mean, I made it through the show- but it wasn't the best JT bootleg I've ever heard, either.
Recording: Audience microphone - 3 stars

Audience

Fantastic, but due to the sound quality, not always consistently represented. During "With or Without You" they were crazy loud, whereas at other times, they were only slightly there. The reception of the show was pretty intense, though- heavy audience before/after songs.

Overall

Standard JT show with not a lot of glitter. "Helter Skelter" was unexpected, and slightly extended. It was Larry's birthday, so Happy Birthday is sung to him right in the middle of "Party Girl"

Last great thing about this show- Bono picking up a spotlight at the end of "40" and saying, "Let's see the back of this hall. Now the side. Let's look at Larry Mullen Jr."..etc, etc. The crowd was going wild.

Good show, but try the 28th if you're only going to download one night from this stay.
