So many great songs like Hawkmoon, Your blue room, Electrical Storm for instance that sound great live. The band can surely handle these.
I agree in principle, but not with those three specific picks. Your Blue Room and Electrical Storm already had their time during 360. I'd rather see them develop Magnificent a bit more.

Yeah, Hawkmoon will be a killer. The other songs did not have so much time in Europe i quess. So i see it working over here fine. It would be so cool if the band interacted with fans and put up a poll like that. But whatever they do, i will go and see them again.
  3. Coldplay has a dedicated "fan selection" slot in their set. I don't know how the selection process works, but when it happens they play an instagram video of a fan requesting a song then they play it. The songs they've gotten have all been varied, but it looks like the band is actually prepared to play them. If U2 supposedly rehearsed over 40 unique songs, they could probably do something like this.

Yeah, basically you record a video of yourself requesting a song with a hashtag, #buenosairesrequest or something like that. I think the Rolling Stones did a poll for the audience to choose a song on a previous tour, although it was limited to a list chosen by the band. Would be awesome if U2 did similar to either.
  5. I feel it's a win/win for groups that do that sort of thing. It gives the fans a song request option and shows that you are hip with technology, although the meerkat thing was pretty cool for those not at the show.
  6. the meerkat thing sucked, it was a cringeworthy moment of every show
  7. I have to disagree, the moment was a nice throwback to the fan/video interaction that they used to do during Zootv, and I loved watching it from my sofa at home. (If the phone wrangler could actually film something properly)

Some of the PEOPLE being pulled on stage for either Meerkat or dancing, or playing, could be a bit cringeworthy, but that's a different story. I guess most of that could be blamed on nerves, jitters or *now is my first and probably last chance to -insert action here-*

When you are at the venue itself and somebody gets pulled on stage for some Bono shenanigans or a guy dressed up like Elvis gets pulled on stage to stall for time while Edge fixes his piano, the feel of the place is amazing. I'm certain if you're watching a video or listening to a bootleg the moment doesn't add much value and can be cringeworthy, but in the moment it's great.

So I take it there are going to be Ultra Super Duper Deluxe Sets with a few bells and whistles to jack up the price considerably.
  12. Yep, 150 euros is rumoured..
