I'm sure they will have paid for an allocation beofre the general sale begins so that they can sell tickets to buyers directly.

  2. That's just a lame, pile of shit excuse.
  3. I'm assuming it has to do with the deal in place to keep tickets out of the industry…let me break this down, since I haven't seen it discussed here yet.

GA tickets will only be available to the public - NO holds will be allowed/allocated to promoters for clients, personal use, etc.

When a show is booked, the promoter generally gets a portion of tickets to themselves that they're allowed to do whatever they want with. For example (and this is a statement of fact to prove a point, not me trying to boast), I no longer pay for most of the shows I attend in Chicago since we know the promoters. They have enough tickets set aside that I shoot someone an email to let them know I'm going to go, and they hold one of their allocated tickets at will call. They almost always have enough to do this. Holds are kept in absurd amounts. Especially for Live Nation shows in huge arenas/stadiums…they take a crazy amount of tickets off the market just for people within the industry. It's just standard practice, its meant for good (they usually can't be resold, but it obviously happens occasionally), and it can't really be avoided. Some of the best seats are never available for sale.

U2 has a deal with Live Nation on this run that no GA seats are allowed to be held. That's right - the best seats in the arena will ALL be for fans. 100% of them. That deal is in place to put tickets in the hands of the fans. Nothing will be for the guy who knows a guy at Live Nation, etc.

...In a further effort to keep them off the market, most (if not all) GA tickets in the USA will be credit-card entry only. You'll have to scan the card you bought the tickets with to be allowed into the arena, and then immediately wrist banded. I've been to shows that do this before, and it's a great way to eliminate scalping.

...On top of THAT, you can only buy two in the presale….my guess is that it's really a masked money-grab. There will be so many VIP and special offer packages that U2 needs to stock with tickets, that they can't put as many on sale for the presale. Their logic is that more fans get fewer tickets if they halve the quantity that they're allowed to buy, and at the same time this frees up some tickets for them to hold one rfor VIP packages. Smaller arena, less tickets, yadda yadda. I'm babbling.
  4. Has it now been confirmed they will play two different shows in 2 days (electric and acoustic)?
  5. No.
  6. Changed my mind. I'm now doing Glasgow and then london
  7. I mean it's not to say that people still won't be scalping whatever tickets they can. Also, don't be fooled by those secondhand markets - people always say "but there's 5,000 tickets up for sale right away on StubHub!" No, there's not.

More often than not, those posts say "tickets available on xxxx date", and aren't available for immediate download/transfer. What scalpers will do is basically give you the closest thing they can to what you buy. If you buy a listing for section 101, row 1, seat 5, a scalper will then scour the market to get you that ticket. He doesn't already have it. When he can't come up with that exact seat, he'll change it to section 101, row 4, seat 7 and ask if you're still okay with that.

TL;DR: Not every seat being sold on StubHub is in a scalper's hands unless it says "Instant Download"
  8. Guys check in your U2.com account if your email address is verified in order to receive your presale codes!!

My thought on the two tickets...we will receive another presale code for four tickets when they hit the stadiums in 2016!! And/or presale codes for Dublin (with chartered discount flights)

It will be two/three times Amsterdam for me cause they gonna change the show every knight. And waiting for Dublin to arrive....
