  1. I bet if Bono didn't get in that accident and the band was able to promote it AT ALL, it would've been a different story last night. Do you know how much they could've been in the spotlight over the last 3 months? I mean they're all over the news, they're playing live, supposed to start the US portion of the promo tour on Fallon then boom... nothing. I wasn't shocked at all when they didn't win.

    So awards are not to music, but to promotion? Have you ever seen any promotion of Beck album?

  5. Wasn't that U2's strategy after not getting a single Grammy for NLOTH?

    "Who cares about awards! We're just going to have the most mind blowing tour of all time that every other tour will inevitably be compared to and never be able to follow."

    Every time someone talks about how good another group's show was, I always say "well they didn't video chat with the Space Station during the show did they."
  6. I mean yeah, Beck was playing the songs from his album live on talk shows, interviewing, etc. That's how I found out he even released an album and why I bought it. The awards are for music, but how can an album that hasn't been in the spotlight for 4 months (Almost how long the album has been out) get any votes. I think SOI is U2's best since POP, but it didn't win because the other albums have been around for the better part of a year (Beck released Morning Phase last Feb.) and were able to be promoted, put out their, and the albums were able to be heard and digested haha I just feel like if SOI was around for a year or so, it would've had a better chance.
  7. Kanye made some remarks about how the Academy is basically screwing around with the musical talent by being random with their awards selection. To be honest, I kinda have to agree with him.
  8. ^ I agree with him just with criticizing academy. But definitely don't agree with Beyoncé should win. Maybe just award for the most overrated "artist".

    On a different, but still Grammy's related note, I think it's impressive that Madonna is still doing performances considering that she's about as old as Bono.
