  3. I've been to all the shows in L.A. and I know what's missing.

    An encore number a la Ultraviolet 360 is what's needed.
    Whip out an old classic.
    Or debut Acrobat.

    That's really all that they can do.
  4. sorry to interrupt but the recordings on http://www.u2tourfans.com/ are better quality I listened to a bit of first night in Vancouver here the recording it is good but other one is far better
  5. They should sound identical, as they're both JEMS recording.

    Jep, the encore is the main weak point of the setlist now.
    The first part of the show is really strong, they should keep it that way (although I wouldn't say no to some more rotation).

  9. They're identical, from the sound to the duration of each individual track, because it's the JEMS source. Listen to our sample for the JEMS source compared to the clip on your site of The Miracle. Both 4:44 in length, and at 0:07, you get the exact same voice appear in the right channel.

I don't want to derail the current discussion of setlists too much, but I do want to make some comments about my personal GA experience and how this tour has totally blown away my perceptions of GA. For most concerts, people go into GA expecting to wait a really really long time so they can snag the best spot on the floor and stay there to get the best experience. People who show up late essentially get blocked out. I did GA in 360 and this is pretty much how it was. Granted, there were a lot of great spots on the field, but after you find your spot and get settled, your chances of moving around are pretty much none.

    In contrast, I did GA for LA 3 and had a totally different experience. I showed up at around 3:30, which is pretty late by GA standards. When I got in, I staked out by the "e" stage since that's where Bono comes in. When the concert started, I was close enough to give him a handshake for two seconds, then the band started playing on the "I" stage. There was quite a lot of space and it didn't seem like people were bunched up, so I figured, why not just head over to that side for a better view? To my surprise, I was actually able to get quite close to the "I" stage for the first 4 songs. When they started to involve the center screen, I moved further away from the stage to get a more complete view of things. I pretty much spent the evening roaming from place to place depending on what I wanted to see.

    So why is this surprising? In most concerts, GA consists of people packed like sardines. Even if you want to move back, it still takes you a while to do it. I was able to get close enough to snag some of the books Bono tears up and tosses and far enough to take decent pictures of the screen visuals within the same song. Moving between the "I" and "e" stages is just as easy to do. Since this was my only show doing GA, I can't be certain if this is because the particular venue or if GA didn't sell out that day, but it really feels like GA can provide you with a complete, well-rounded experience if you decide to roam around.
