Which makes me wonder if I want to still keep looking and posting in the Spoiler topic...Don't get me wrong, I loved following the setlists of 360 in Europe all summer back in 2009 before I saw the show opening night for North America in Chicago. It made the excitement level build. But after knowing virtually nothing for sure about I & E at this point still, part of me wants to show up at the United Center on June 28 and have absolutely no idea of what they'll play.

I'm guessing most of the rest of folks on here have made up their minds about this long ago, but anyone care to share their thoughts as the big day approaches?
I would definitely try to stay spoiler-free if I were attending a show on June 28. It's just a month and a half, it's not that hard! You can always control your withdrawal symptoms by checking spoiler-free threads While on tour, we will ALWAYS tell if a thread contains show spoilers in its title, so you can avoid looking at it.
  2. No news yet on the supporting act(s) ?

We have been blessed (imo) latest tours with Snow Patrol, Interpol, Starsailor, etc, so I am rather curious.

Nope, nothing yet. Although in the support act topic many are actually preferring no support acts this time around
  4. I hate spoilers on tv shows, books and movies, but in here? unless you're getting the setlist of the show you'll go, that's hardly a spoiler...

Knowing that they're playing your favourite song 90% or 50% of the shows still will have you anxiously wondering throughout the whole concert if they'll play it that night or not, so that's not a spoiler for me.

Even better, KNOWING that they're not playing that song this tour at all or only something like in 10% of the shows, if they start playing it it'll be even more shocking than not knowing anything before hand.

Finally, the way they use to modify the songs from tour to tour, I'd say it's better if you know what to expect, otherwise -for me- it could be disappointing.
There's plenty of examples out there... from classics like SBS, to new songs like Crazy Tonight, from songs that changed them to sound even more amazing like Bullet, to songs that were changed to sound nutered like Bullet back again.

I felt disappointed when I first listened to a Zoo TV show and listened to Running to Stand Still, I was expecting a "still ruuuuunning" and I got a "Halle, hallelujah, halleeeee", but now is my favourite version. I know I would prefer to know the "feeling" of the new versions in the tour, after all, they're playing live, so it's not like "oh, I already know what happens next, so what's the point".
  5. I get your point, but going to a concert of your favourite band and not knowing which song they're gonna play next (or how they're gonna play it) is a fucking amazing experience, believe me.
  6. Happened a few times for me... Mainly 11 O Clock and Out of Control during Elevation and starting with Magnificent during 360... Oh and dancing queen at Zoo Tv Wembley, the best was not knowing what karaoke song Edge would do during Popmart.

Where's the news/ spoilers? This forum has turned into a setlist discussion or Pop review forum.
  7. isn't a spoiler, but its about the show:

Company that created the screen of Popmart tour LED, back to work with U2 in innocence + Experience. LSII the company disclosed on twitter days ago will return to work with U2 providing its LED technology ". U2 will now be on tour with our LED technology and tonight will be testing live in Vancouver, Canada"

As a die hard PJ fan, I can definitely agree with that. It's something that rarely gets experienced in this day and age. And I'm guilty of it. I cannot stay away from online setlist parties and setlist.fm. If it wasn't for PJ completely changing the setlist every night, I'd never experience the feeling of not knowing what's next at a concert.

    Hmm good points...

I remember knowing the previous setlist almost by heart and went totally nuts when they started playing Until the end of the world, Elevation and Bad in Amsterdam...
Normally not that big of a surprise, but not played until then.

On the other hand, if you don't know the setlist, EVERY song is a surprise

Same here ... when they started playing EBTTRT for the first time on tour , as the first song of the first show , a different version and playing it after many years

I'm attending a show on May 30th and I don't think I can go spoiler free unless I take significant steps to block U2Start and Facebook. The body is weak I tell you.
  12. Try staying spoiler-free until Paris I would have to do unimaginable things to achieve that. May 30th is easy...
