Also (this could be too OTT) but it would be a good way to connect the innocence with experience stages. "Time is a train..." and all that.
I thought this would work really well where Invisible is, after the intermission.

But keep Invisible somewhere! Don't go dropping new songs for old.

Obviously they went with COBL after testing both, but I wouldn't be entirely surprised to see a bit of experimentation in the next few shows.

    We'll see!
They did? Didn't know that it happend that fast. Maybe there is a chance, wouldn't mind if they rotate the opener. Would be awesome to be suprised every night.

And Zoo Station is a great idea, would work great with the screen indeed.
  3. god, I forgot love and peace was an opener once... damn, those were amazing
  4. I actually forgot they even made that song. Although it's not that bad during Vertigo, it could be played this tour.
  5. That's an underrated song. Studio cut is great and the Bono drum portion of the live performances were a great element of that show.

I honestly think the entire Vertigo Tour is really underrated. They had a really great show going for them and it's going to take convincing for me to think this one will top it, honestly. I'm a big fan of that tour.

    No. Bono's hair.
  7. One of the worst parts, I'll admit.

Strong setlist. Very strong stage design. Vocals were poor at times, but the energy from the band was unreal.

Have to agree indeed. Great setlists, awesome stage design, both in theatres and in stadiums. U2 3D was insane. And COBL was a great, great opener
  9. I'm inclined to say I liked vertigo hair more than i&e hair... but I digress, I read we're not supposed to talk about the looks.
  10. Originally posted by MattG:Imagine...the house lights go down, and quietly, "Ba-ba-babara, Santa Barbara..." repeats over and over, swelling and crescendoing while the one light hangs over the stage, and then

    BOOM!

The stage lights kick on as the drums kick in, Bono is jumping in front of the crowd...they could do great with that as the opener. Especially at these next batches of shows.

I love this idea, too. Might be in the minority who enjoy the "Santa Barbara" introduction...great build-up to the drums kicking in that would work especially as a live opener, agreed!

Besides COBL, Love and Peace, and Vertigo all being tried as openers during Vertigo Tour leg 1, is there any other particular tour leg that's seen multiple openers?
  11. I loved the 'God Only Knows' snippet they did when they played the song on the promo tour!
