Notre Dame is my favourite... emotionally is very heavy being the first USA show after 9-11. End Of The World begins with Bono screaming "Jesus!!!! this is Judas!!!". I love it. Then at the solo at the end Bono pushing his mic against Edge's guitar which creates a nice guitar scream in there. I really love it.

But it doesn't match the ie performances... Bono angry screaming to God, desperately demanding him to "CONFORT ME! CONFORT ME! CONFORT ME!" after rejecting him in Raised By Wolves, where he just ripped books -including bibles- and angrily screamed "I DON'T BELIEVE ANYMORE!"... which happens right after we just heard the 3 car bombs exploding along with the news broadcast with the death tally after the anguish of a very very sad "I can't believe the news today..." in Sunday Bloody Sunday.

Nah... at least for me, the betrayal in Until The End Of The World never has been more powerful than this time.
  2. Bono kicks the guitar during the Elevation tour. You can hear him wailing on Edge's guitar. That is powerful.
  3. Elevation was good, but it was a greatest hits show.

I&E might be their most interesting show since ZooTV. Best? Who knows. But interesting.
  4. And haven't all their tours been a greatest hits show? They rarely play curve balls or unknown songs. They usually play 4-7 from the album they're promoting, plus 15-20 hits from previous albums. Obviously, the share each album gets after each tour gets diminished as they have more albums (=more songs) to choose from, but that's their basic formula - and IE Tour is no exception I think. 360 Tour looked like an ATYCLB revival in 2009 and 2010, then an Achtung Baby revival in 2011 - while retaining most of the pre-90 hits like I Will Follow, WOWY, Pride, Streets, Still Haven't Found, AIWIY, etc. It's always been like that. Even Popmart and Zoo TV, both of which featured their respective albums prominently, had around 7-8 staples from the new albums, filled with 15 other hits from past times. IE is the same up to now: 6-10 new songs, and 12-15 hits from the past.

The difference is that there's no unknown oldies for the diehards this time (The Ocean, An Cat Dubh/Into The Heart in Vertigo Tour; Ultraviolet, The Unforgettable Fire, Your Blue Room in 360), which I guess has stung our setlist criticism even further

I have to agree with you in that UTEOTW sounds awesome during Elevation. I'd actually say that the 360 versions were strongest. The IE version has by far the strongest visuals for it though.

    +1

That is what is missing for me. Some forgotten song , maybe 2/3 . Like God part II , Hawkmoon 269, Dirty day , Two hearts beat as one , A Celebration ( for you Tim) .

And is completely madness that they don t play nay song form the last cd
  7. I would argue that Electric Co is widely unknown beyond longtime or diehard fans.

UTEOTW is best when on ZOOTV. No contest in my opinion.
