About U2... well, only a few people values spontaneity and variation that much (or over technology) and the band definitely is not among them.

So, while we can still hope for some malfunction, other than that, you either try to enjoy it the way it is or you'll be upset with them all the time, because as long as they continue to be successful doing the things the way they like to do it, don't expect any changes.
This thread is less than two weeks old ansd has already 19pageds. Not everyone likes this approach that much probably.
  2. I wasn't upset with them during any part of 360, just this tour. They're playing it safe this tour. None of the Vancouver shows were anywhere as good as 360 Arlington or 360 Norman. There is a spirit missing from this tour; the technology has replaced the song.

They can't even play Volcano proficiently like they did at Jools. Do they NEED to have multiple cameras tracking them in order to play comfortably these days?

Every Breaking Wave live sounds like Bono trying to release his inner frog. *croak, croak*

    Ditch the screen.

  3. Sorry, but if this is the case you really don't have any right to be complaining about the setlist.

Seriously, if you haven't seen a show yet stop posting in this topic until you've been able to attend a show. Otherwise, you'll end up coming back to this topic the night after your show apologizing for your blasphemous speech.
  4. Anyone is entitled to their own opinions and complaints, whether they have attended none or twenty shows so far.

Also, setlist complaints are valid even if you're not there. Performance/show complaints are a totally different story because you should be there to properly judge it, but song choices and setlist flow are perfectly subject to criticism.
  5. ^ yeah, 100% agreed
  6. I 100% disagree.

If we were talking about them compiling a CD, or even something like U22, I would agree. But we are talking about a concert, an event intended to be experienced with both your eyes and your ears. Even then, seeing it from a video is not even close to physically being present at the venue. To ignore the actual quality of the performance while talking about a setlist for a live concert is pretty wrong to me. I mean, we might as well be looking at songs on a piece of paper without even considering the way they actual sound at this point.

No. But you aren't gonna change your mind on this so
  8. But you're talking about the experience and quality of the songs, and then of course you are right! Watching youtube videos doesn't do the show justice.

However, we're talking about the setlist

Alex, this is nothing personal at all, since I really appreciate you as a member (no phallus joke), but you do tend to get kinda offensed by what people say on here, while you don't really understand what we're really saying.

Like Blink said (and I said and numerous of people said dozens of times), it's about the SETLIST. What do they play each night ? Is it a good song choice and is there some variability in between nights ? NO ONE said something about the quality and the performances. Cause yes, you'd have to be there. And actually, I think we all like (most of) the versions they're playing.

Sorry, but as long as you don't get that difference, discussing with you is rather pointless...

Again, nothing personal ! Just trying to make things clear. For the tenth time
  10. The LED screen design was a mind boggler. The band want all the people in the seats to experience the cinematics yet they don't even give a view for people behind the stages to see it? When they first talked about the screen being in the center I naturally assumed common sense would prevail and they would design an oval shaped screen (like 360) so everyone, anywhere in the arena could see it. It wouldn't have interfered with the elevator inside the screen nor the band's ability to perform inside the screen. But noooo....

    SMH

If they do stadiums I hope they ditch this screen so no one is left out.

Who's Alex? And did they descend to hell for a bottle of Korova Milk 1?
