    in my opinion they should of atleast tried the 2 different night theme they were going for, they said they thought the idea of having 2 different nights would mean fans would miss out.....well in my opinion if fans wanted to hear new the new songs,

    then go to the first night if fans want the old u2 songs then go to the 2nd night, i dont understand why they dumped the concept i personally think it would of worked alot better then what there doing now, also the fans could have more of a personally choice of what songs they want to hear. i love the new album don't get me wrong but its the classic u2 songs and sound that make a u2 show a great place to be
  2. That's a casual fan review, and a good one at that. We've discussed this to death but let's repeat it anyway: 75% of the audience is there to listen to WOWY, One, Beautiful Day, Streets, SBS or Pride. They don't care about Bono growing up in Cedarwood Road or a car bombing in Dublin 39 years ago. Will they appreciate the story? Yeah, probably yes. Will they care about it? Doubtful, probably not, some might. Will they be angry that their beloved hits they heard on the radio some years ago fall off the setlist to make place for those obscure new songs that appeared on their iPods without consent? Surely yes.

    Exactly. Which is where the battle between relevance vs. excellence rages on. Do you give in to the 75% and give them a Rolling Stones Greatest Hits Extravaganza, or do you play to the diehards and enjoy the new songs you've crafted? Or, do you understand that 100% of the people there are paid customers and paying consumers drive a hard bargain and often won't even settle for a happy medium...

    They'll never please everyone, so they have to try to keep everyone happy.

    Me, I'll take whatever they bring. I'd rather see the machine roll on then see them get burned out and tired of playing songs that bore them because they've played them so many times and decide they're done...

    no... Then everybody would be comparing both shows and there's no way that that would've ended good for them.
