Tour: Innocence and Experience tour
Songs played: 27
Audio recordings: 5
  1. I'm out, good night
  2. I'm not sure about that second setlist. All of the ones I've seen had notes regarding the stage the songs are played on. Plus, Stephen Hawking --> Mother and Child Reunion speech? No way...

it looks like an earlier version to me... they moved Hawking before COBL and swaped ISHF for Troubles.

    ---

Very interesting changes wave-bad-wowy seems like a really cohesive unit, all the despair songs together building up to Bullet for it to lead into Pride/BD... makes a lot of sense.

Questions: how did it worked the link between COBL to Bullet? (I liked the long "wave" into Bullet)
Also, are they realizing that ISHF is not a really good closer?

I'm also wondering if the modifications on the setlist had something to do with the safer e-stage set (which seems logical and well thought to me).

I'm really interested in listening today's Bad performance
  4. COBL launched right into Bullet. There wasn't any sort of transition between the two, which is actually fine given how COBL ends and Bullet begins. I still think ISHF is a great closer that draws in a lot of audience participation. Your theory regarding the setlist modification is interesting since I guess we can consider Desire/Angel of Harlem to be safe songs. I felt they could have done it regardless of the e-stage set. My initial thoughts were that the changes had to logistically work given the member's positions on the stage, but swapping things around after EBW is actually sensible since 2/4 members aren't even playing (unfortunately).

Bad's performance was what started off this entire night of madness. Definitely worth listening to/watching.
  5. ...think I will have the last hour (from EBW till end) of the stream availlable for d/l in 20-30 minutes. It is mastered but has 1 drop out in WOWY. 2.5 stars at max, but in terms of journalism perfectly sound...
Let me know if you guys are interested.
  6. PS: this will be one uncut mp3 of approx 63 minutes...

...anyway, here it is https://1fichier.com/?5u9ze9c14t (scroll down to bottom and click "download" - perhaps you need to check 1 or 2 boxes...depends, but I don't know on what...)

    Enjoy

My point on the safer e-stage set is that their minds had to be a lot more focused on the changes on the setlist than on the rest of the songs (which also may explain Edge being "distracted" earlier on the show), so they wouldn't (shouldn't) want additional stress on trying to play something they're not entirely comfortable with (TCB, LH, Volcano...).

At the same time, they didn't know what audience reaction to expect to the new setlist order, so it would make sense that they would want to try the new setlist order on an angel-desire crowd rather than in a volcano-ordinary love one. Less variables to better test the planned changes.

Hopefully they can find some transition between COBL and Bullet... Transitions into Bullet have always been a highlight on any show (bad, dirty day, Miami, ebw...)

Very good point. Don't want to screw with too many things at once.

Now that I remember, Bono shouted "Blessings, where are you?" several times at the end of COBL leading into the beginning of Bullet. They did extend Bullet's intro, but only because Bono forgot the lyrics.
  10. ...definitely tuning in for Boston#3
  11. (BTW...I Will Follow from last night - Boston 2 - clocked a little over 6 minutes from first to last note... AND IS AMAZING...!!! - especially when Bono says: "This is our Sunday morning, Saturday night," in that exact order... I tell ya...that is pretty cool when you are listning from Europe a few hours after the show...)
