  3. I was pretty sure that somewhere in the past, not long ago there was some talk about the
    Sharebear/Hoserama Chicago 5 2015 matrix (New Mix), but I can not seem to find it back... (still searching )

    Anyway, as I recall correctly Hoserama said that it was OK to share it here, as it wasn't yet available from our database.

    And as I know how much you all like these iem-aud matrixes, I've put it up for all

  7. I have done a "clean-up" master/remaster for Mr. Foo <--> The Tootsiehead's recording of 2017-06-14 Tampa.
    Some ten days ago I asked hannahb (on u2torrents) for permission to share at u2start and u2torrents and all was OK.*

    I think this is a wonderful recording from the floor of the Raymond James Stadium with an excellent sound.
    The SP-CMC-8 cardioids were sufficiently pointed towards the speaker stacks and also picking up the crowd atmosphere nicely.
    But obviously also picking up clapping, screams, whistles and near-by chat but, once again, the iZotope RX05 was able to manage
    the claps quite nicely and let me take control over the screams and whistles. Near-by chat is always the hardest to eliminate, but
    sometimes it seemed to have worked pretty well (while at other points I may have left it "as was"). Nothing too disturbing though.

    Unfortunately at times some air flow does take a little hold of the mid-range and presence, causing a little instability in clarity
    (e.g. Pride, In God’s Country). But perhaps I’m making it sound more serious than it actually is.
    Overall this just an excellent audience recording of a very strong JT2017 show!
    No need to apply equalization or compression of any sort, just some volume adjustments here and there for a smooth listen.

    *PS: Not sure at this point if u2torrents is the right place to share for this remaster, so for now I just keep it here.
  8. Yesterday a second source for the 1997-06-03 East Rutherford "Giants 3" show emerged on dimeadozen

    I added this to our database in both mp3 and flac, but I don't think much of it in terms of recording quality (2.5 stars).
    Bono's voice is very distant while much of the U2 sound is muffled and non-pronounced.
    This mainly has to do with the fact that it was recorded with internal microphones, but it has also been proven that
    the Popmart stadium tour was difficult for quality audience recordings anyway.

    Most interesting about this show is probably the Edge karaoke of Theme From New York, New York and, if you
    were there, the girl that gone rogue, "showing off to the people in the stands stage right." (Pimm Jal de la Parra)

    if only in terms of clarity and detail. There is also the incomplete Brother KM recording (KeithM's brother,
    I presume), that also sounds great and which has always been my preferred source for this date until now.
    Not only is the KeithM recording complete, I think it is also better balanced and very well pronounced.

    The recording is a bit "hot" (according to JJEMS "as Keith preferred!") but mainly due to the enthusiastic crowd
    which, at times is very noisy. Now it's my understanding that JEMS applied some Spectral Repair, but not sure if
    it was done to eliminate some screams. I did try myself to remove some screams, but there are so many and then
    they prove to be quite persistent as well...
    But then also: the true art of Spectral Repair is that a listener doesn't notice that it has been done
    So, having the highest regard for JEMS, I can only "watch" and learn how these guys treat a master (pun intended!).

    Judging by the mere sample of Exit (as to be found on the show page / audio tab), this recording would easily
    qualify for the 4,5 rating, but overall there is just too much screaming going on to maintain that esteem.

    However, an excellent 4 star recording of this very energetic first show of the five night stand in LA, is just
    a wonderful gift and addition to the original Joshua Tree recordings that we have.
