Feel free to share as MP3s if you want. I have no issue with that anymore, as it's pretty common. And you can always check/find lossless stuff now.

- update consist merely in adding the known sources. The CD-R bootleg "4th Night" is OK, but since JEMS has announced a fresh transfer from the KeithM master tapes, it is likely going to make this "4th Night" obsolete. Although this 4th Night bootleg has circulated with unknown lineage, my money is on this being actually originated from an early transfer of the KeithM recording.
(And as one can see, the show page is already prepared to welcome the KeithM master)

Ha! Somewhat sooner than I expected, but JEMS already shared the fresh transfer of the Keith M master
of the "1987-04-21 Los Angeles CA - Sports Arena (4th night)" today![]()
As I suspected, this proves indeed to be the master underneath the "4th Night" bootleg and,
I dare to say, this is a fantastic upgrade![]()

What a difference a few generations can make! (Sorry if I just copy my remarks as given on U2torrentsa few momentsan hour ago)
And as JEMS - or rather Butterking for JEMS - already mentioned in the accompanying info file, this 4th Los Angeles show is a somewhat forgotten show from the legendary first leg of the original Joshua Tree Tour.
But I think it is special just for being so ordinary and without pretense. This is still the sort of innocent U2 that doesn't know its full potential yet.
A sort of in between show: in between the fantastic previous show with Bob Dylan on stage, and the outstanding show the following day to close the 5 night stand at the legendary Sports Arena. But by being "in between," it is also a sort of welcome moment of relieve for the band not having to live up to the highest standards which they always have sought for themselves.
This 4th night seems to have played itself - giving U2 a sort of unique calmness towards their own being as a band. I think the right word I'm searching for is "unforced." And so is the recording. It all sounds so pure that you almost forget that you are listening to a recording: it just takes you there. Both performance and capture are in a wonderful harmony and that is just pure bliss!
Perhaps I make it sound as if it is all perfect without any flaws, but given the crispness of sound coming from a 30+ year old tape, it is quite amazing and a very welcome listen
