One day I will send you a physical product beb...just for old- skool sake!
    There is no them!

The romance in the not-near-perfect recordings, to me, (for U2 anyway) is that I know that it's a labor of love by one fan to share the experience with another who cannot be at that particular show. That just seems to be how the U2 community has always been... United. Kinda like I have never met a U2 fan with an extra ticket that tried to gouge the price for resale...

And thanks... I actually enjoy dabbling around and creating my own covers, sometimes... Although looking at some of yours, they're hard to pass up!

I don't know any person in my surroundings that could live from his/her dayjob and go to as many shows like I do and spent so much time on mixing/mastering shows like I do. well, either you are born rich, you have that hell of a dayjob, no friends and/or other interests and hence much more time or you do it like me with the support of others.
me, I am grateful to have this support and be able to spend so much time and money on my releases
and thing is, see all the other multicam mixes out there and none comes close to mine and none these days gets half the downloads like mine
quite a few of my dvds even get more downloads than the propably best audio recordings (your St Louis Mix for example)
it's not the fact alone that I know what I do but I invest propably a hundred hours more in my video releases than anyone else - I can do that with the help of others - win win no? ;-)
You use excellent audio-only sound sources for your multicams though Taped by people like sharebear/hoserama or maybe more modest or amateur tapers like myself.

This isn't a battle of more vs less downloads or more vs less quality. It's just a discussion about whether recording internet streams is worth it or not, and all arguments have been explained so far. I think we should leave it alone now, we're beating a dead horse and it's starting to get personal so...
  3. I don't see where it gets personal and I used my own audio on quite a few releases and other tapers who usually don't share their audio recordings gave me their recordings for my videos and when there is only a lifeless IEM like the Stockholm ones for example I mix it with an AUD capture which is again for all three nights exclusive for my video releases but back to the streaming thing: as long as you don't block someone's view like Outlaw Pete I couldn't care less, still think that everyone should do something better with their time ;-)
  4. @BigGirl--There's also romance in spending the time, money, and dedication in getting the best possible recording. At least for me--I genuinely enjoy all the mixing and clean-up work.

@Olli66--far from "born rich + hell of a day job + lots of free time." More like broke starving student up until recently. There's a lot to be said for being resourceful and creative with the tools at hand. Like you, I do have support of others. Other tapers and I will pool expenses and help each other out with gear loans.

Agreed with likeasong that download counts are irrelevant. But if that means something for you--then go right ahead.

Anyways, I know you spend a lot of time in the post-production. As do I. So kudos to that. I'll just politely disagree (as I always have) with your decision to sell your product.

@Blueeyedboy--romance only takes you so far when the recording is distant, muddy, and lots of screaming. I'd rather spend a little time and effort on the front end to get a superior sound

    Never said it wasn't!
... and you've made your point; you just need to accept that not everybody is the same and, hence, enjoys & does different things.
Like I said elsewhere, this u2 world is big enough for both of us.

BTW : this bootleg corner is not only for mixlr recordings, see first page for the latest updates
  6. I had a great GREAT night last night, listning in to one of the mixlr-streams. Just lying in my bed with eyes closed - mind you, the concert was between 2.30am & 5am @my side of the "river" - just listning to the "radio," like I did so often way back then. And it was brilliant! I went spoiler free, so I only hoped for CB... But then came MISS YOU, and in my book not even as a snippet but as FULL BAND (check out the chords, that was definitely the Miss You bridge at the end...).
Anyway, lots and lots have been said about the mixlr-things the past days (see elsewhere in this topic) ... so, what else could I do than to bring another mixlr-broadcast...

*NOTES: Had a wonderful night listning in via mixlr "radio"
d.p.o.r. A nice uninterrupted stream with not much nearby
conversation and only a couple of screams. Sounds gets muffled
now and again which made it hard to improve the recording much
by eq'ing. Only boosted a little of the bass and topped-off
some the sharp highs. All in all a quite good mixlr-recording.
THANKS to "radio" d.p.o.r., the boys & girls @u2start and all
the fans sharing their concert photos on instagram!
