  1. I agree, in a sense. I remember the days after 9/11 there was a lot of deliberation over cancelling football games here. The NFL decided to proceed with games partly for that very purpose.
  2. "We need it now..."

Terrible catastrophe for everyone involved. Glad the band is okay now.

Actually, the NFL postponed games a week for 9/11.
  4. I saw the updates slowly trickle in throughout the day at work and couldn't believe it. As concert goers, we have to know that this could have been any venue at any concert. It's fitting that U2 have decided to postpone their concert and broadcast event in respect for France in mourning. Glad that our boys are safe, but terribly distraught for the lives that were lost.
  5. Just read it. I can't believe it. The most terrible thing is that thees things keep on happening. What is it in human mind or brain that makes people do such things?

    Same thoughts here.
  7. From U2.com:

    13 November, 2015
    PARIS
As a result of the ongoing state of emergency across France, the U2 Paris concert scheduled for 14th November will not be going ahead as planned. U2 and Live Nation, along with HBO who were due to live broadcast the Saturday concert, are fully resolved to go ahead with this show at an appropriate time.

Speaking from Paris the band said:

“We watched in disbelief and shock at the unfolding events in Paris and our hearts go out to all the victims and their families across the city tonight.

We are devastated at the loss of life at the Eagles of Death Metal concert and our thoughts and prayers are with the band and their fans.

And we hope and pray that all of our fans in Paris are safe.”
  8. Also, do yourselves a favor and DO NOT read any social media posts about the event. Chances are you'll encounter a fair amount of American Conservatives trying to politicize the event and basically shut down any conversation of social justice issues going on in America. I ran into an article featuring tweets in which prominent conservatives immediately use the event to criticize everything under the sun, from Obama, gun control, racial tensions, university students, literally EVERYTHING. I actually threw up a little just reading about it and now I'm beyond pissed and probably won't be able to sleep for hours.

Fucking conservatives make me ashamed to be an American.
