  9. 2 weeks after Bono was at the music festival in Timbuktu, the Islamic extremists took over the Mali government. They set up shop in the very same hotel he and Ali stayed in. They gathered up musicians and cut their hands off in the hotel.

  10. I think the main thing here is respect,it would be hugely disrespectful to play a huge,loud concert of all things with many laying dead less than 24 hours earlier.
    U2 have made the correct decision.
    They'll be back though,remember October 2001 in New York City???
    Thats when they'll unite with Paris and show these cowards they are not gonna win.

    The decision was made for them by the French authorities....any large congregations of people are being stopped in the city for the next 3 days
