Joshua Tree Tour 2017
Legs (3): Leg 1 - North America, Leg 2 - Europe, Leg 3 - The Americas
Shows: 52
  1. I do wonder how you can cancel a tour you haven't even announced.
    @mrmarkreed

Amen. We're being too dramatical about this - it all was just rumours, nothing was set in stone, so there is no harm done. I'd rather let them finish the album and come back with some new music and energy than touring the same songs again with zero passion or, even worse, tour again but dropping some of the already few SOI songs left (360 Tour in mind).
  2. You can cancel a tour you haven't announced. Cancel plans to tour, cancel bookings you've made without announcements.

It sucks, but we just have to wait. I suppose it's good for the wallet - for the meantime.
  3. Makes sense that when SOE not ready no extra touring. I hoped they would make it ready ontime to tour again next year. I have to do with reliving the 2 wonderfull gigs i attended. Next year is Mumford and perhaps Coldplay then
  4. Gerard called this at Belfast 1.
  5. What a let down. I somehow took it for granted that I would see them again the next year. Well, I still hope, but it doesn't sound promising. Anyway, we had an amazing year and I enjoyed the four shows I attended tremendously.

They can tour like noone else can but they suck at making new music.

Asking a bunch of guys in their mid 50s to tour and make an album at the same time is I think asking too much. They are not in their early 30s anymore.

Touring with an 'Innocent AND Experience' tagline without having the Experience part in place seems a little ill thought out.

I think the execution of this tour has been rather short of the mark that the band set out but I will save my thoughts until this years shows have concluded.

That depends if you have assumed that the Experience element of the tour was another set of legs. To be honest, and I might be in a minority here, but I would much rather them make some more new music, rather than go through the motions and tour because they feel the need to fulfill commitments.

The Experience element was originally sold to be a night on night arrangement. Now, at best it will be a change next year IF the band were able to get a new album out on time.

The premise of a band should always to make exciting music rather than writing music just to tour. In that sense I don't know what the bands main intentions are these days. They take years to make a new album such as SOI only to then drop (or not play) quite a few of the songs from the album. And particularly not to play some of the more interesting songs.

Very interesting in my opinion. Maybe one day I'll sit and think it all through.

    You make some good points.

I've seen them live 15 times over the years, and I've just had my best ever gigs at Glasgow - so I guess i'm not looking at it in any other way other than emotionally.
