I've been thinking about multiple shows in each city and somehow it doesn't add up.
Currently we have the following scheme:
Jul 8 London
Jul 12 Berlin
Jul 15 Rome
Jul 18 Barcelona
Jul 22 Dublin
Jul 25 Parijs
Jul 29 Amsterdam
Aug 1 Brussel
So, assuming U2 prefer a gap of at least 2 days between different cities, as proven in their recent tour history, I come to the following:
Jul 7 London extra gig (could also be jul 9)
Jul 8 London
Jul 9 rest
Jul 10 rest
Jul 11 Berlin extra gig
Jul 12 Berlin
Jul 13 rest
Jul 14 rest
Jul 15 Rome
Jul 16 Rome extra gig or rest. (My gut feeling tells me only 1 night in Rome, so rest on 16th)
Jul 17 rest
Jul 18 Barcelona
Jul 19 Barcelona extra gig
Jul 20 rest
Jul 21 rest
Jul 22 Dublin
Jul 23 Dublin extra gig
Jul 24 rest
Jul 25 Paris
Jul 26 Paris extra gig
Jul 27 rest
Jul 28 rest
Jul 29 Amsterdam
Jul 30 Amsterdam extra gig
Jul 31 rest
Aug 1 Brussel
Aug 2 Brussel extra gig
Somehow it doesn't work, as there would only be one day between Dublin - Paris (whcih seems unlikely to me as the band might seize the opportunity to meet friends & family while being in Dublin) and also only 1 day between Amsterdam 2 and Brussel.
But if Dublin 2 would be scheduled on the 21st instead of 23rd then only 1 day between Barcelona 2 - Dublin? Extra Barcelona gig on the 17th? That implies only 1 day between Rome - Barcelona.
And does this implicate only 1 date in Amsterdam?
Or does the band schedule multiple shows with only 1 day rest?
What do you think?
Finally: the above is all speculation from my side. I don't have any contacts with the band or promotors. Just dreaming out loud!
It looks complicated but I think it's workable. This should be a much simpler tour logistically so it should just be a question of how much rest the band needs between shows.
O.k. guys, I'm glad, happy and what so ever, "The Joshua Tree"is my all time fav album. I checked my U2.com side and yes:
Red Hill Group (long time subscribers).
"Red Hill Mining Town" for the first time unbelievable. And "One Tree Hill" "God's" "Mothers" also for the first time for me. I hope the band also play "Streets" when it's dark and than the red lights full on. Jezus man.....The roof in Amsterdam Arena will be closed I guess, so it's kind of indoors. I hope It's open.
