Joshua Tree Tour 2017
Legs (3): Leg 1 - North America, Leg 2 - Europe, Leg 3 - The Americas
Shows: 52
  1. In a way I can see why the speeches emerge in the encore set. The first two acts are absolutely crystallized in their purpose, but this show lacks vision with the third act. It feels like good set pieces that they've put together hoping they will work out as a whole. Beautiful Day feels confused, Miss Sarajevo I like in theory but you can't beat the piano versions from Vertigo and 360, and One actually feels very weak. I liked the version they played during IE where they scale back towards the end and Larry builds up with the drums. Play that version non-karaoke style and One will be very powerful.

Not sure if it was just because I was there, but the encore set actually seemed to build up and flow in Miami and left me energized and uplifted. Hopefully they've figured out the flow. Minus the guitar malfunction during Pride, it was all in all a perfect show.

P.S. - Props to OneRepublic, too!

I like the sound of what your suggesting for one, the thing that always sort of spoiled it a little for me on the I&E tour was the fact it was karaoke style but if you take away that element then it would be very powerful indeed.

Because of u2's wide range of songs and sounds they've got quite a divided fan base so there's going to be a lot of people in the stadium who think YBR is a creative step too far or that ES just doesn't cut it compared to the early days, then there's the casual fans who just want to hear hits. Then there's the fact that live as an audience member you can't really do much with these songs apart from stand and listen and they don't create the kind of intensity of certain songs to get away with it so much. Well that's my take on it anyway but I'd still like to see rarities Iike those live.

Yeah, there are so many fans, and so many songs. Would also love to see some rarities, but i am just about to burst because i'm gonna see U2 and i know they are playing more songs i never heard live.
  6. So Vertigo is back now? Wonder how long it will take for them to replace NYD and Bad with COBL and Stuck.
  7. Until the "e+i" Tour, I think
  8. I think it's all about travelling through the years. If you look at the setlist now with the exception of Miss Sarajevo the songs go in album order. I also think whilst Bad and NYD didn't receive complaints people have been complaining at finishing with a new song and then I will Follow doesn't really fit in with what I was explaining above so I can't see there being much more change to the set now, we'll probably still get ASOH and The Little Things on night 2's but I'd be surprised with anything else showing up.
  9. I think where they have the set right now is pretty much how it will stay, with the exception of Night 2 cities...
  10. Nyd will stay for the whole your as it fits the theme of it, SBS and NYD are set, I think
  11. One question I dont think has been addressed is.. How is the sound this tour? Anybody who has been, how loud was it compared with 360 and I and E?

And the Quality of sound, when I saw them on 360 it was the best sound I've ever heard, when I saw Bon Jovi it was meh ,and Coldplay it was hit and miss, the sound on Coldplay was not great to say the least.
