1. Just watched the BBC broadcast. Great stuff. A shame Bad was so short.
  2. Is a BBC HD recording available somewhere?
I have recordings of Canal+ HD Spain & France but they are not in Full HD. The recording of Canal+ France is a little bit sharper, but also not Full HD. The rendering of C+ France is very bad, too. The picture and moves are jerky.
  3. Does anyone the u2 dot com web stream?
  4. I've been listening to the audio posted on the show page for Paris 4 and I'm fairly certain that this could be the best concert material they've released in a very long while. Bad being cut short is rather unfortunate, but I think it's a small remark on an otherwise superb show. Every song is performed incredibly and even their older songs sound fresh.

I really like the mix they are using. All four members are in perfect unity and even the crowd is mixed in just right. One highlight for me is Edge's vocals. I don't think Edge's harmonies were given the attention they deserved in the past, but this mix really does it justice. Song For Someone has been my favorite song to listen to simply because Edge's vocals are so prominent.
  5. I really like the drum sound on this tour. I think it has been given great attention to by Larry and his team, and you can hear that. The set-up, the choice of drums, drumheads and cymbals he uses, the sound/mix. They sound great to me, live and on the HBO recording(s).
  6. Oh, and I forgot to say that Larry is playing great! He does some new stuff on Bullet, he has come up with some new stuff which is pretty tricky.
  7. Generally, I prefer indoor mixes since the audio sounds much tighter overall and doesn't give the "spaced out" sort of feel that can be heard in U22 and Edge's Picks. Those releases were mixed to make you feel like you are immersed in the sound while the HBO audio from this tour is mixed to make you feel like you're sitting right in front of the band.

Anyhow, I'm curious to see what they do for released material. Obviously, they could sell the HBO DVD and accompanying CD, but there is also the opportunity to give U2.com subscribers something special.
  8. With U2.com they will probably send us a nice audio CD of the Paris show
  9. I'm going to dream out loud and hope they send a pro-shot of Paris 3 to subscribers and release the pro-shot of Paris 4 as their official concert film.
