1. I dislike the current cover
  2. Covers aside, the content is actually quite good. The audio is improved from the already-great original broadcast and the varied video shots are quite nice. There are a few awkward/unnatural crowd shots every now and then, but it doesn't distract from what's going on. The Fly intermission became a surprising highlight of the whole affair. Mixing shots of the crowd looking at the screen with Bono singing off stage and the other band members drinking water/changing clothes fits the mood quite well.
  3. Well, It can't be any worse than the Rose Bowl.
  4. Rose Bowl had a lot of problems... a lot.

Personally, my standards for what constitutes a good concert film are very low from a visual standpoint as I'll only watch them in full once or maybe twice. For me, the audio is much more critical as I'll be listening to these performances more often than watching them.
  5. I will say that Coldplay's Live 2012 concert film has become what I expect from a great concert film regarding audio mixing and visuals.

Except it has really cheesy slow motion moments and the changing of location for every song creates a void where you'd typically find that feeling of being in the audience.
  7. I just watched half of the Paris thing, from a DVD rip.

    It's brutal.

    Brutally poor.
  8. On the official show. I think they could enter at least two songs from the previous day (Out of Control and Ordinary Love) and "One", the 11th / November. It would be epic.

And still I wonder why not played Volcano and California for this project in Paris? But they always prioritize the classics, which are in all the old projects.
  9. I have to admit I got kind of bored halfway through.

I will say that this happens with the Rose Bowl show too..maybe it has something to do with actually having seen those tours in person and my memories of them being way more exciting than a tour video?

    Shrug.

It's more of a "tour documentary" than a proper concert film (same with Ghost Stories, actually), but I enjoyed the different venues. Violet Hill in the small club was a highlight for me.

I wonder how this poll holds up now that we have an official physical release for Innocence and Experience

I don't know...I thought the Rose Bowl show just wasn't as good as some of their previous 360 shows. Maybe it was self-consciousness on the part of the band playing for millions of people on YouTube, maybe it's my dislike of the setlist compared to earlier and later versions on the tour. Either way, besides watching certain songs to relive them with the glory of the Claw, not my favorite release.

I really am liking I & E Paris much better. Some unnecessary cuts and missed opportunities, yes. Some poor editing once in a while, yes. But the show itself I thought was excellent. The whole element of it being in Paris following the attacks added a level of gravitas to an already powerful narrative that this tour has. And wow, is People Have the Power with Eagles of Death Metal powerful. Possibly my favorite part of the show. You can just tell what this means to the band. When Jesse and Bono high five each other...
