The greatest magic trick Trump and his group pulled out is to make believe the people nothing particularly terrible was going to happen with him (to non-minorities, that is).
It's been one week since the elections and he hasn't even taken office, but there's already been more conflict of interests in his transition than the entire Obama administration in 8 years. He wants to take all his sons and his son in law to classified briefings, he wants to keep all his businesses and live in Trump tower while president, he wants to appoint people in the White House with direct ties to their boss' businesses.
Steve Bannon, the leader of the alt-right whose platform explicitly says that the white race is at risk because of "multiculturalism" in America is now chief strategist. Anti-evolution Mike Pence is VP, batshit insane Rudy Giuliani, who has earned millions working for foreign governments and exile groups (while hypocritically shouting "lock her up") is the front-runner for Secretary of State.
Twitter has banned accounts for alt-right members. So now not being a bigot is literally a requirement for Twitter, but not for the White House.
How is any of that the same thing as with Obama?
Even if trump is full on racist, it's not like we haven't had racist presidents before...Andrew Jackson and Woodrow Wilson for instance.
Look no matter who he puts into offices of 'importance', the bottom line is that he will not be able to do everything he says he will - and he'll whine about it on twitter...
