for such a short tour the production is simply amazing, i actually prefer it to 360 even though no one can sit behind the stage. other bands can only dream about a stage design like that.

notice how u2 always think about the fans view.

i saw Coldplay in Melbourne last year and the speaker poles were blocking our view, and it wouldn't matter where you were in the stadium the view would be somehow blocked bit, u2 either hang their speakers or place them in an area where its still viewable for every fan!
  4. Not seen any so far, just gone thru the handful that I saw streaming and they don't have it up on their showreels.
  5. everything perfect but they are getting older, they move not so much on stage
  6. There were at least 5 tapers in the show last night so full and good quality recordings will start surfacing soon.

    Just be patient please.
  7. Damn fine version of In God's Country

I know right? Many other bands do what they can get away with, especially for an equivalent type of tour.

Thinking back to Zoo TV, it wasn't until the Zooropa leg in 1993 that the band were actually making money (iirc - might have to fact check that one - but I seem to recall it took them a long time to break even because of the high production costs) and it was merchandise sales that was helping them.

I'm sure they're much more financially savvy these days obviously (ticket prices would suggest so at least lol), but yeah, it's an amazing setup, for something they knew would sellout quickly anyway and would *probably* only be doing these few dates this summer, they could have got away with something much more half-arsed and less expensive. They're just not that kind of band though, they want it to be special for all of us, themselves included and the history books.

i know, its crazzyyy , only that amount of dates and the stage looks like a 100 plus date world tour! one of the many reasons i adore this band, its more than the music for us and them!
