  1. I'm only stating my opinion and the fact that u2 played 9 non singles and someone is describing it as a greatest hits tour which is false. I'd say they are playing less hits this tour than any of the last few tours.

Being able to play a song without rehearsing it doesn't measure an artists talent, bearing in mind the effects and complexity of u2's work compared to pearl jams, at best you could say pearl jam have got better memories of how to play there songs, but that doesn't make them better musicians.
I think that being able to play a song without rehearsing it is actually one of many qualities that can be used to "measure" the musicianship, however pointless that would be, but since you brought it up... Look at Springsteen, playing very different setlist every night, taking requests, even of songs that are not his own. That says A LOT about the musicianship of the whole band.

The complexity of U2 work....hmmmm...it is original, using effects, loops and such, but it really is NOT a complex music. Certainly not more (or less) than PJ. They are in the same league with any other comparable rock band.

Yeap, you like U2 more than PJ, fair enough, I do as well, but it is just your opinion and it says nothing about the quality or musicianship of any of those artists. Just my opinion, of course
  3. So glad ASOH is back

Ok. It's a tour of their most popular album ever, surrounded by their greatest hits. My bad. Minus Miss Sarajevo and Little Things. And sorry but in terms of musically talented, u2 are not even close to Pearl Jam. I think they would even admit that. U2 is a great live band but plays it safe. Bono is passionate. But as a band they are average. It's their songs that are special.

We're not going to agree on this, as I said before there is no way to officially measure who are more talented but I'm happy to be a bigger fan of the more successful of the two and the band that actually created the songs that you yourself have described as special. On a different note, yes Sergio I am delighted ASOH is back as well, don't know if my luck is out though with it being played night 2 that might be the pattern from now on meaning I'll miss it but we'll see.
  6. As a true fan., how could you not say you wish u2 treated their live shows like PJ? Forget about who's better.
  7. My dad can beat up your dad!
  8. If you mean varied the setlists more then I never said I wouldn't like them to vary them but being a fan who only gets to 1 or 2 shows a tour (3 for 360) I get a pretty fair deal. On this tour setlist variation shouldn't even come into it, it's more about finding the right setlist and sticking with it, for night 2's I guess 2
Song changes is fine. On other tours rarities do always show up it's just about attending the right shows but I agree at times the sets in the past have seemed almost too structure and it would be nice of them to throw in say gone instead of UTEOTW one night then New York instead of elevation but I got 4 songs rotated from one night to the next on the I&E tour and I was happy with that.

  9. No... unfortunately that one sold out in like 5 seconds, so didn't get to go.

    Was there 10/28 and 10/29.
