Bit of a waste in the set list I feel (though I do like the arrangement over the piano only versions).
My main issue with MS is not the song itself, or even the performance (which I find mediocre this tour, but whatever). I love seeing Omaima in the big screen and even in the distance I get chills and I hope her dreams are fulfilled.
My problem is that the Syrian civil war is 6 years old and in that time U2 could have written a song that is more poignant and more relevant to the message they're conveying. They need to stop shoe-horning a song about another civil war 25 years ago, in another continent, and be more coherent. If refugees and women of the world are important for the band (as it should be), give us new anthems to honor them properly.

Wise words m'man - having spent the last two tours following every show's setlist as it was announced, I did my best this time to ignore setlists before Sunday (although alas wasn't entirely possible as I'm a sucker for temptation), so had a rough idea of what was to come but not the precise details.

    Even so, wow.

For me, last night was bloody incredible. Was stood stage right just in front of the Red Zone, about 7 metres away from the B-stage, close enough to feel like I could touch the boys when they wandered up and down. I couldn't even begin to tell you guys what my highlight was, everything was special. I'm still digesting it all in my head. From my earliest days of fandom, that was the kind of thing I wanted from a U2 gig in terms of staging, spectacle, setlist etc. Sure, they could have really mixed it up by throwing in Wild Horses (I can but dream..) but it's a reboot of JT in the 2010s, so I think they struck a fine balance between oldies, newbies, and unknownies for the superfan and the casual listener, and Bono obviously didn't disappoint with his rambles and Bonoisms.

Ahhh heck. It was just immense.

I mean, even Noely G's opener was worth the entrance fee alone, but having just spent Saturday in Hyde Park seeing Cold War Kids, Tears for Fears, Elbow, and then The Killers with the ultimate festival headline set, I can safely say that was one of the best weekends I've ever had.

Am now off to go and cool down in a dark room for a few days.

    Peace y'all x
Awesome sir. Helluva weekend you had.
  3. Saturday was my favourite show of the two because I was in GA. Got my number midday on Friday, #58 in line. Queued from 6am on Saturday. Got bumped up to #56 in line after 2 people didn't turn up for the 6am check-in. The queue was run really well. Absolutely boiling in the line. A bit sun burnt but well worth it. Got an awesome spot, front row at the corner of the Tree stage. I was right next to the drums. Met Guy Oseary and Terry Lawless. Sam O'Sullivan and Stuart Morgan also came past quite a few times. Adam's bass guitars for the Tree stage songs were on stands right in front of me.

Adam looked down at me and smiled during one of the first 4 songs. Looking back at videos, I think it might have been during New Year's Day? Great moment. Bad and Little Things were my highlights of the show. Bad is my favourite song and hearing the band play it was a dream come true. Seeing them play it so close was just awesome. The Heroes/Where Are We Now? snippets were AMAZING. Chills. It was great to hear Little Things, loved the song just from the videos. Hearing it live confirmed that. At the end of the song the whole band were right in front of me, like 5 feet away. Incredible.

Sunday was more sedate, as I had a seated ticket. It was cool to hear MW with the slide solo. Great to hear Bad with the Heroes snippet once again. I was nearly crying during it. GA is where the real fun is though.

    An unforgettable weekend.

GA for me last night...just in from of the mixing desk. Great view and great vibe amongst the crowd
  5. Great couple of shows after a long trip to get back for them.

Great to meet DesertDog on both days and thanks to him for sorting my Sunday ticket. A real gentleman.

    See you in Dub sir.

Looking forward to it sir !!

  7. Was my only JT show yesterday as life gets in the way for me, but thought it was incredible. The QA queue was well run by the stadium team, the crowd were great and good company, and the set list all worked a treat for me!

  8. Love this pic , can just see my hand and arm (black leather watch strap) about 8 rows back towards the right
  9. the guy with the achtung baby shirt up front always seems to pull the same face during a show (not the first time he got pictured)
  10. Think his name is Arnie , love the incredible passion he shows , and love that zooropa t shirt
  11. The energy especially in the first few rows is something i'll never forget. Really hope to experience it again in a stadium again in the future for A U2 show, special special weekend
