1. I have a good friend who's a teacher, and he tries to emphasise reading to the kids not so they can read great literature, but so they can understand auto insurance, mortgage documents, and other, very real documents.

Mostly agree. Definitely agree with the SOI statement. Anybody who bitches about a free album, well... not sure what to say about that. Anybody who bitched about "having their rights violated" should a0 blame Apple, and b) better learn to read the fine print before they click "I agree to terms" or life is really gonna be rough for them down the line...

And don't be apologetic. We are true fans which means we'll bitch about the band to each other, and staunchly defend the band to outsiders. It's what we do. It's our right as contributors to their well being .
I love it! So well said!

I feel like it peaked on Elevation Leg 3. Vertigo was okay, but I think only because it was part of the LAPOE / SBS / BTTBS Trilogy

Such an overlooked, undertaught and vitally important lesson. Can you just see one of these kids getting their wages garnished and complaining that their rights have been violated?
  5. Yeah I'd say Elevation tour was the last time it was really great live, as you say that whole trilogy segment worked well for me on the vertigo tour but I wouldn't pick a version of Bullet from the vertigo tour as one of my favourites. I've preferred it on this current tour though to everything since elevation as it's been brought back to something closer to the album version.

Most schools especially government funded schools won't teach that kind of thing, why would the government want to teach kids real lessons, especially ones where the people have an upper hand against the scum that is the government

One, on vertigo was great vocal but that speech.......oh my
  8. I also agree with the comments about the free giveaway of SOI, it doesn't matter how much someone tries to tell me otherwise if you didn't like the album delete it and stop complaining or even better give it a listen first as I'm sure many people just wanted to have a dig because it was u2, as you've said a few times yourself Greg if it was some popular modern day artist everyone would be loving it and praising them, u2 do it and they get a hard time.
  9. Agreed also, I'm becoming a real fan of these encore videos from the likes of Stephen havwking and Desmond tutu because at least they're not really taking up time, the band would be having there encore break anyway so it kills two birds with one stone. The video screens should be used more for messages as well in general and let the band play the songs which themselves have messages and meanings within.
