1. Unpopular opinion:

While Adam has been improving his playing and stage presence, The Edge has been steadily getting lazier and worse since 2009.

OR is it just that since Adam has been getting better and better, Edge's haven't changed and by nature are looking worse?
  5. Even though I think Edge is an intelligent, cool, nice dude and a cracking guitar player, his constant wearing of a beanie hat is quite embarrassing.

I mean, wear a beanie for looking cool and creating your 'Edge' stage presence/persona, but f - me man, when you wear it to a funeral - when a man wearing a hat is literally disrespectful - and at a gala dinner when you're dressed up in a tuxedo !??!!??!?! You've also worn it at weddings.

Listen, going bald and losing your hair is most probably a really distressing thing and some people will judge you as looking old - not my opinion personally but we know how the celeb world works - but just shave it all off man, like Michael Stipe or Vin or whoever, as I'm sure you'll still look feckin cool.

I mean, do you wear it in bed and when you're swimming?

Er, yes, I am addressing The Edge personally here as I know he regularly visits U2start and downloads his favourite bootlegs

I thought you were the Edge?

I've noticed this. Props to Adam because he's become a solid player (especially post-Zoo TV). But I wonder what's up with Edge. I sometimes wonder about his confidence in his ability to play live, and if he deliberately has reduced the difficulty of his parts.

I agree with all of this. As a bald man, I can't wear a beanie to work. Also, it's cheating. You're fooling no one.

Edge, you're going / gone bald. Own it, just come out, and say "F_k it, I'm bald".

Personally, I think he wears a beanie out of laziness. Shaving your head every few days is really boring.
  9. During the JT tour 2017 and on SOE, Edges guitar playing was nothing special. Compare the ASOH '84/'85 with 2017. While recording SOE, Edge was most the time was having vacation.

    This.

IMO the decline began with Invisible live (he didn't play the guitar solo. Let that sink: he DID NOT PLAY the damned GUITAR SOLO) and the super-simplified version of Sunday Bloody Sunday with less notes in the main riff that began with the rooftop 2013 version which was the inspiration for the 2015 and 2018 stripped-down versions.

From there, less and less greatness in his playing, more mistakes, less spark, more wariness. More piano playing where guitar would have done great (or sufficed, at least), and being honest, he isn't Rachmaninov!

It's sad because he's my hero, he's one of my life-inspirations... But he's sadly going downhill. I've even come to think he might be starting to suffer some kind of slight osteoarthritis or some bone disease. I hope it's not the case but I wouldn't be surprised.

    Adam on the other hand...
  11. Come on Edge, throw away your beanie, less digital production, more raw playing and check out your hats !!!

And don't forget the piano in RHMT 2017, instead of a guitar, was also a great disappointment.
