1. Hey guys,

Anyone familiar with Bowling For Soup? It's a band from Texas. I really became a huge fan of them in the last months, I love their music. Their last four albums (The Great Burrito Extortion Case, Bowling For Soup Goes To The Movies, A Hangover You Don't Deserve and Drunk Enough To Dance) are great.

They're some strange guys with often non-serious but really happy music, listening to them gets me really happy. They're also now more into the serious song stuff, check out their new single When We Die:

Their previous single High School Never Ends:

    (a funny video!)

And they had a hit with 1985:

Which remains one of my favorite songs.

What do you think of it? Anyone familiar with them?
  2. I remember when they put out the song and video "1985." That was absolutely everywhere here- on every TV channel, you couldnt turn on the radio without hearing it. When I walked through the hallways at school between classes, you could always hear a group of kids singing it.
  3. i love there music too! i have a lot of their songs on my ipod thanks for the link
  4. The video for 1985 was the only thing on MTV and Vh1 until U2 came out with the iPod ad with Vertigo in it....................fall of 2004 was craaaazy!
  5. Don't know ths guys, but i will give it a try I'm pretty sure i'll like it
  6. ''there was U2 and blondie, music still on Mtv''*hums*
  7. Woah, they're coming to Holland! I read their newsletter, they're coming in 2 weeks! I immediately started looking for tickets and I got them within a few minutes. Don't know who I'm taking with me but I'll be there on their first visit to Amsterdam this june
  8. awesome vids, all 3.

i was familiar w/ 1985, but had never seen the video before. and the mom in 1985... wow.

    good stuff, good stuff.
  9. It just bites a little bit those of us whom 1986/87 were the best years of our lives.. but the mom is hot! `Hope I can say that on here.

I think Bono would agree: if you can't laugh at yourself a little.. you have to be able to.. like Eric Estrada told Ice-Tee (baby) on the crazy reality show when I use to watch Propaganda.. I mean Tv.

I also agree with Bono about what he said to Sarajevo and apparently Argentina, other places? "To the future!" Hopefully there will be more great years for all of us!

Thanks everyone for all your help on this site. I'm hardly ever able to log-on anymore. But, hopefully sometime.. . You all are the ones who understand.

    David
  10. I also think the understanding of being able to laugh at yourself came about with U2 in Achtung Baby.. not take things too seriously.
  11. Remy,

According to Wikipedia, Bowling For Soup never writes out a setlist! They make it up as the show goes on. Should be interesting to see how that works out.

I also really like their song "Almost"; I guess that's obvious it's on the radio, but I like it a lot though.

Haha I'd expect nothing else than such an idea from Bowling For Soup. Their concerts must be hilarious with a lot of improvising and laughing and stuff.
