1. Idk, I'm just looking for reasons why the video is not out yet
  2. I'm not saying I don't count it as a single on Spotify but maybe U2 does
  3. On first listen through, I like it. It does sound very similar to Beautiful Day, though, and vaguely like some other song I can't quite place...

It's a solid song, it's fun. I like the guitar riff near the end. And Kendrick, too.
  4. I am really liking that guitar sound and part starting on the second chorus... It sounds "full" and reminds me a lot of that really nice guitar part at the end of Edge's Fender video.
  5. Listening now.

Lyrically sounds like Bono thought of the phrase "get out of your own way" and wanted to write a song around it rather than the other way around (meaning the actual music is paint by numbers to the point where the drums are 90% Beauiful Day and California put together).

Kendrick part feels like a corporate gladhanding move.

I'm with Gerry. So far I do not have high hopes for this album. None of the songs released so far are as good as the best 6 or so songs on Songs of Innocence.

I wish I felt something listening to this but I don't. Maybe I'll like it more on repeat listens. I think The Blackout is the most exciting song released so far, and even that was one I hoped would be the Volcano of SOE.

What happened to when Bono said SoE was going to be more sonically radical than SoI? This sounds even more like a phone-in than SoI did. Not only that, but knowing that this was going to be a two-part campaign from before SOI was released, wouldn't there have been an inkling to keep some of the best stuff for the second album? Doesn't really seem like it. None of these touch Iris, Cedarwood Road, Wolves, etc.

    Me sad.

Agree with you 100%. SOI was superb. Ironically, the weakest song there for me was Volcano and they just keep bringing it back.
