  6. about the guitar solo: sometimes I like it and it sounds good both in the album and live and there are times when I just dislike it a lot and I think it feels odd, like it doesn't fit in the song. so, what are your thoughts on the solo?

    Like most edge solos for me it’s one of the highlights of the song. I feel that GOOYOW would be missing a significant part without it.

    That’s a good way of putting it. It’s the only track on SOE that I don’t absolutely love. It’s very U2y but it might be... just a little bit U2-By-Numbers. Edge’s solo is nice, plucky, fun, many of the lyrics are strong, but some are a bit clunky... I dunno, it’s the basis of a great song but it definitely doesn’t quite get there.
