Yes, U2 will add second dates. Should be announced on Monday, sale a week later (with separate sign-up etc.).

I just want to look at tickets at different shows, but the site in Montreal for instance is requiring me to load my code first. I will not lose my code if I dont check out right???

    Correct.

Thats how you know you're getting tickets in fans hands. There's an occasional "paid" line guy, but he's only getting 2-4 tickets...

As if scalpers didn't queue and buy them at outlets. You and I have experience with those! I once slept outside a ticket outlet literally surrounded by guys who couldn't name more than two U2 songs

That's what they do in football games and it's scalpers' paradise man.
  6. My solution a while back would work of having photographs on the tickets. If you booked for a friend then there picture would need to be sent too at time of purchase . To make it fair if you couldn’t attend you could get a refund up to a certain amount of time before the gig and the official ticket site would re sell the ticket for the same price with the same condition of having to have a photo. If there was tickets available on the day of the gig then they could be sold at the box office again with a photo taken at time of purchase, no possibility for anyone to resell for profit.

    Yes!

They're just not willing to do it.

A mess for fans buying tickets in advance without knowing if they will or won't be able to attend, yes, but the very only way to truly screw scalpers up.

But screwing scalpers is REALLY not Livenation's priority since allowing scalping through their system gives them millions of clean profit over tickets they had already sold.
  8. I just got my email from Ticketmaster about getting the physical copy of the album.

There is no way any "rules" will improve the situation. Since the main players like LiveNation and Ticketmaster are actually actively applying the scalping techniques, all those "rules" are there pretty much to give an impression of a fight and the only result is that fans have it more and more difficult.

Also with all those rules the tickets seem to be way more exclusive and the demand is actually higher. I say that the main reason for applying this Verified Fan bull...t is an advertisement and selling strategy. There is absolutely zero interest in "beating the scalpers." Sad, that U2 take part in that.

I wrote it here before - the only way is not to buy from scalpers. And Seatveawe of course...
