1. gotta say Hozier is looking good in the glasses

  2. It depends exactly what he means by fuck off rock and roll. He was talking about them playing on the e stage and to me it seemed like he was referencing Acrobat. If that’s what he means then I’d rather have something like that than SOA. Anything that’s heavier, darker and allows Edge to show off his guitar skills a bit more sounds good to me.
  3. Depend on if it's "Fuck off rocknroll, lets play something modern" or "fuck off everyone, we play rocknroll because we want it".
I'm for the second meaning, first one could be disaster...

Well put. It would be even cooler if they'd just put both out in a short time frame.
  5. Not likely... they need to polish it to death... so minimum 3 years gap
  6. And get One Republic to write a song!

It was definitely more along the lines of the latter. Fuck off rock n roll doesn’t mean he’s telling rock n roll to fuck off in favour of something else he’s talking about it being full on rock n roll. Full on rock n roll though is still a bit open to interpretation.
  8. Songs of Ascent, from what we can glean from what Bono has said, just sounds like the most experimental thing they could do at this point. If Soon, Mercy, or any of the Fez recordings can be indications, I'm so down for that. We need another left turn in their catalog.

This talk of the Fuck Off rock and roll reminds me Bono talking about punk rock on Venus, before Atomic Bomb came out. They've been making "rock" albums for the past 20 years, albeit not quite heavy hard-hitting fuck off rock music, but U2s version of rock, which is still better than most bands. But give me some weird ghostly prayers with middle eastern instruments and strings.
  9. "Fuck off rock and roll album" - so pretty much everything released post-2000 apart from the stuff they shied away from in the NLOTH sessions?

    Again?

    Fuck I hope not..
  10. More of the same. Boo.
