    Enjoy.

Thanks for this jheath. The transitions between the BBC and the others were seamless. Amazing sound quality!!!!!
  2. Why didn't they do Summer of Love? It has a great orchestral part.
  3. I guess French Broadcast was the same as Irish RTE broadcast : no interviews and the same 10 songs (no "One" but "All I Want Is you")
  4. Thanks Scott. Glad you like it.

    - Loved the song performances.Beautifully shot,no hyperactive Hamish Hamilton-esque cuts, excellent sound mix.Lovely to note how visibly starstruck the choir and orchestral musicians were, they were clearly thrilled to be part of it!
    - A full length 'U2 on tour' documentary would be fascinating.I'd have loved to see more of the Sao Paulo footage, since we rarely get those kinds of insights into the band's life on tour.(Was that Matthew McConoughey at the post-show gathering?)
    - It's nice to see the band so comfortable in Cat Deeley's company, but I had to skip through the interview segments. She came across as a fan who couldn't believe her luck in being chosen to front the show, but it was all very gushy and excessively enthusiastic, lacking any real insights.(Understandable though if the show's intended for a general primetime audience.)I thought she was ok in the Sao Paulo stuff, but the studio interviews were just a little awkward for me!

A good assessment that. I wasn't overenamoured with Cat Deeley either, I'm sure she's a pleasant enough lass, but she did seem out of her depth, and some of it was embarrassing. You could tell the band were being generous to her, I noticed an occasional frown and intake of breath from band members with some of her questions and things she said, and the fawning was rather cringeworthy.

To be fair though a lot of people interviewing the band are just the same as they are fans to one degree or another and are obviously in awe, just like many of us would be too I'd imagine.

I personally think they shoulda skipped all the interview stuff entirely and just done a straight 1 hour show of music. Would have been much better if this was a Jools Holland BBC2 thing imho.

But can't complain really, we got some fabulous music out of it.
  6. RTE1 HD Broadcast is available on U2torrents
