1. Hello!
The Beginning of the Song Beach Sequence is allways in my Head!
Your Blue Room is a good Song!
    And Miss Sarajewo!!!

  2. err everything?!

from reading your earlier comments it sounds to me that just because something isn't commercial and instantly accessible you just label it as crap!?! (the fact you've listed zooropa as your least favourite U2 album re-enforces this opinion). i'm just amazed you've got the pop album as your avatar!? gives off a very contradictory message about your tastes!

and sorry but the thing you said about U2 calling it passengers cos they were too embarrassed to put their name on it is probably the most ridiculous thing i've read on this forum so far!

from reading your profile it seems you are a fan of U2 only at their most commercial and i would never dream of criticising you for that but i'm afraid that makes us polar opposites! (my favourite album is zooropa)
  3. Well, it ALL is a matter of fact... He can love the strangest B-side of a forgotten single, and also love Beautiful Day and Magnificent, can't he?

Is NLOTH commercial? No, do I like it? Yeah loads. TUF isn't commercial, I like it alot, The Joshua Tree and Achtung Baby aren't commerical, I love them. Pop is my avatar because I listened to it the other day and discovered how much I like it. Which of my 10 ten songs is commercial maybe apart from Beautiful Day (which is debateable)?

I think people feel they have to like it because it was made by the 4 guys from U2. I wouldn't class Numb as a particularly enthralling song aswell as DGPFYCC, the first 2 minutes of Zooropa aren't amazing either.

I like music with talent (usually) and for me OST1 seems to have little talent. I also like songs for their lyrics and Bono's voice, and considering the lyrics don't seem to be up to much and there are no belter's for Bono's voice, infact he rarely sing, I have to class this as a big dissapoint for me.

    Thanks for the support

  6. It's not something personal, it's just what I think

I love Alex Descends Into Hell For A Bottle Of Milk, but on the other hand I'm just listening Walk On

errrm you don't need to thank people for 'the support'... its not a war - i'm not attacking you! and i'm also not telling you you should like the album or anything else in U2's back catalogue for that matter! - i just found your earlier comments a bit ignorant and for want of a better word 'clueless' thats all... (much like your most recent comment about lack of talent!) so i'm sorry if i offended you and got a bit carried away but like i DID say in my original post - i would never criticise you for liking the more commercial stuff and not liking passengers - i just don't like the way you're so quick to say it's 'crap' and 'talentless' just because you dont 'get it'! -and you obviously don't get the whole point of the album as it's not meant to be an album of 'belters for bonos voice' or even an album for him to need to sing very much on! -like the first two minutes of zooropa it's an album of atmosphere and ambience and mood and a chance for U2 to make music that sounds nothing like U2 which is the main reason why i love it and why it takes infinitely more talent and balls for them to make than a regular U2 album! yes i love the classics like bad etc with soaring vocals but i also like to hear a completely different side and that was what i used to love most about U2 - the fact that they would make music SOOOOOOOOO vastly different to what you'd expect and each album would be more daring and brilliant than the last!
if they only made one genre of music it would be pretty boring wouldnt it! (and for the last 10 years they have pretty much made one genre of music which is why i can't seem to like them as much as i used to)

and for the record although i love most of the music on all the albums you just listed, i would still consider the majority of them 'comercial' with the exception of possibly the unforgettable fire and parts of achtung!

glad you recently discovered you like pop though - i reckon one day you will discover you like passengers too!

Yeah don't wurry, I know its not war or anything . I was just saying I like U2 because of those reasons and none of those reasons are on the Passengers album. I probably was a bit too hasty to say it was crap but it was because I didn't find it appealing at all. I was majorly disapointed several times and being a massive massive U2 it was unexpecting.

I'm glad they make differnt types of music, that's what makes them unique. To be honest I don't think much effort was put into the album because it sounds like a lot of machines and stuff, which doesn't appeal to me. I admire them for their balls and guts to do such a unique thing, for me it was just such a shame I didn't enjoy it....

For the record I do like Alex Decsends.... and Beautiful Day

    thats ok!

i remember when the album came out in 95 reading the letters page in propaganda (official pre-internet U2 fan magazine) and there were a lot of people who loved the album and saw it as an interesting side project and a lot of people totally up in arms threatening to burn their U2 collection!

but to me (and this IS only my personal opinion!) being a U2 fan back then was infinitely more interesting than it is now... you never knew what they were going to come up with next and listening to a new U2 album was always a scary experience (scary in a good way!) and i really really miss that - perfect example is the day pop came out and i heard mofo and miami for the first time! freaked me right out but i thought it was amazing!

how many bands can write something like ISHFWILF, streets and bad and then come up with something as different as miami, mofo and lemon?! not many i can tell you!

but those days seem to be long gone.... - they haven't come up with anything new in ten years and ten years without a scary U2 album is too long for me.. they need to grow some balls again and stop worrying about being the biggest band in the world and i need another pop or zooropa!

  10. I gave it another listen last night and have come to the conclusion that it isn't rubbish. But I don't understand the concept of it. What was the point?

Also the reason why I like U2 is Bono's soaring vocals, Edge's style of chiming guitar notes and riffs, Adam's melodic bass line and Larry's drumming.

This album has none of the qualities that I enjoy about U2 therefore I don't like it. It is a very unsual album and I still don't know whether to call it a U2 album or not...

The concept is movies for imaginary movies, some are real though. The 'soundtracks' are original because 3/4 of the movies don't exist.

A lot of it doesn't sound like real drums - either that or they've been overdubbed in places.
