    Here's my question, since I'm not as in tune to the broad international scheme of things... the few times I've seen Messi play, he doesn't seem to be nearly as theatrical as his world class counterparts... am I wrong?

    No you're not. Messi is not that type of player. Also Messi came to Europe when he was still very young so he might have a bit of a different culture than other South American players.
