That was so freaking great! I thought I went to a terrific concert in SJ but this one was wonderful. Thank you to the anonymous periscope person who shot it like a concert documentary. Thank you, so much!
  2. I’m really not trying to spark a debate but I’m so confused after watching the entire set list party unfold tonight. I simply don’t understand BD, Elevation and GOYOW Being bemoaned the entire time, while everyone fell over themselves when AOH, Desire, and WLCTT were played. I get the over commercialization of BD and Elevation but those Rattle and Hum cuts were U2 at their peak of over commercialization, and all those songs sounded like something my parents would have listened to and not geared to fifteen year old me at the time. So why are they so revered today? Is it all nostalgia based?
  3. Is it really that hard to understand that hardcore fans prefer songs that haven't been played (essentially) in a long time to those songs that are currently played often?
  4. wow! awesome setlist , 3 songs from Boy opening the show is great.. followed by red flag day and all because of you... WGRYWH back finally! sad about EBW piano :/ but thats ok (dreaming with a electric version)

Nostalgia is a huge factor, yes.
But also, there was the brass section, which is really rare, otherwise AOH and Desire are usually not very welcome (check setlist parties in recent tours).

Also, if they played this set tomorrow again, everybody would think it was boring, so it's basically the fact that tonight it was different to what we've been listening for the last few weeks.
  6. Token Stuck in an Moment.
  7. This periscope by Sarah Woods is still real great to watch: https://www.pscp.tv/sarahdwoods/1lPKqkEdBgZJb

She has almost the entire show filmed. Only IWF is missing.

It was so much fun. And still a kind of magic to me: waking up on the other side of the Atlantic in the middle of the night and tuning in to a live video + audio feed of U2 club show in Harlem, NYC
