Seems some are saying that it's an incredible story and some are saying it's a bore-fest. I've listened to the recordings and it sounds like a solid, thematically-driven show to me. To those that have attended: what is the energy of the crowd like? I'm presuming they don't react particularly well to the new stuff (i.e. half of the set)?

Personally, I think a lot of energy could be reclaimed by ending the 'narrative' in the main set and leaving the encore for high-energy hits. Something like: NYD/Elevation/Vertigo/Best Thing (electric)/GOYOW/American Soul/Staring at the Sun/Pride/Love Is Bigger/13 --- Wild Horses/COBL/One/Bad
Well as far as the crowd goes when I saw them in tulsa I was the only one standing and singing in my section and I got told to sit so from my experience the crowd was miserable so personally for me the show didn’t live up to its potential and I wasn’t a huge fan
  3. I thought the crowd in NYC and NJ was pretty energetic for the new songs but I was surprised to see a pretty dead crowd during vertigo and elevation. But then again I’d never seen them outside South America so that’s also a matter of perspective I guess
  4. It's well known that South American fans are the most passionate on the planet.
  5. I loved both concerts but I was confused at times.. like why aren’t people singing along? You’re supposed to keep doing the oooh oooh oooh after pride until Bono tells you to shut up! Haha
  6. Ha yeah, I suppose any judgement of the crowds is with the caveat that (no offence) US crowds are pretty quiet regardless of what's being played. Be interesting to see the differences when they come to Europe.

As I said, I think the show looks good from video and audio but there definitely looks to be a drop in energy from the crowd towards the latter parts of the set.

The energy (at Uniondale and Newark) definitely peaked during the Elevation/Vertigo/Desire sequence. Picked up again during Pride, then dropped. I loved the encore, but it was a total dud in terms of crowd energy.

Perhaps location in the venue plays it’s part as marianarielli said the crowd was dead for elevation and vertigo but good for the new songs which is quite different from what you said. I would have thought there would be a big difference between Ga and seating when it came to atmosphere for certain songs. I guess if you’re down in GA having a good time it’s easy to forget what’s going on around you.

It’s 100% a section to section thing. You can get stuck in a dead section anywhere in the world. There’s nothing worse than that.

Indeed. I was sitting in the lower bowl, near the e-stage both nights.
  11. The GA at the LI show was pretty fired up most of the night , on Adams side . Uppers in NJ sec 214 sat all night .....and I mean all night .

Now , in comparison the Pearl Jam fans in Rome on Tuesday went ballistic in the GA to the point where I had to retreat to the back of the floor , and not for nothing they were pretty upbeat in the stands as well ...
  12. I’m confident the crowd in MSG will be great tonight . They always are .
