  1. It’s been a phenomenal night all round, met some great people and witnessed a truly phenomenal show, sitting up in the heavens and yet what a view from the seats couldn’t have wished for more. Bono seemed to confirm its going to be the dvd release so hopefully that’s something to look forward to, I hope there’s a lot more from the band to come, felt quite emotional most of the night at the thought this could be the end. Bono wasn’t willing to say they would definitely be back which maybe does confirm they are undecided, and undecided is enough to get me worried but they’ve given us so much, I love this band and I never want it to end, the fact that it has to one day is really gutting, there music have shaped my life and memories in many ways. Anyway to cut myself short hope everyone enjoyed attending, listening in or watching on periscope, seems like it will definitely be the last for a while at least I really hope it’s not the last forever.
  2. Crowd were on form tonight, I was in block 205, and Tuesday night certainly was party night there! Had that buzz about the place that you just feel, knew before show opening that something special was in the air.

It's been an amazing few years of seeing U2, made some wonderful memories and shared experiences with family and friends.

What the future holds for U2 will become apparent in the fullness of time. But I'm confident we haven't seen the last of them.
  3. Agree with many of the previous comments, crowd was mental/insane/crazy/up for it massively, especially where I was Edge side of “e”, although the whole arena seemed in fantastic voice, apart from me, didn’t want to spoil my recording too much ???. I believe there were multiple tapers in attendance so should be a few recordings surfacing over the next few days/weeks. I have more bands to tape this weekend coming when I get back to the U.K. but I will share it.

As regards the band going forward, they deserve/need a break. Whatever was going on with Bono’s health scare in 2015/16 remains a personal situation.

I’m sure after a few weeks/months of getting back home with their families and close friends they will start popping up on social media, if not their own then others.

Let’s give them time and space to breathe.

    Cheers

Glad you had a great time Dean If you're seeing multiple shows on a tour I always say its good to take in the show from some other perspectives and a little further back to soak up the whole show. I was up in the heavens for Twickenham #2 last year and honestly it was good to see the show and the screen from that vantage point and the atmosphere was still amazing from half a mile away almost!

I am with you on the whole undecided thing. It's clear to me the band don't know at this point themselves and its why they're not willing to say anything - plus ever decreasing circles and all that - nobody knows what's around the corner, so as you get older it gets harder to make massive commitments like this. I will say I think they've probably written next year off completely for anything other than their personal lives more or less, though no doubt Bono will continue with his activism to some degree.

I think they will possibly have talks in 2020 at some point to see how they're all feeling and if they're feeling up for anything in the future.

You know it could be the case right now, that 75% of U2 definitely want to get cracking on another album after a year or two's break, but perhaps 1 member of the band isn't feeling the same right now and has other priorities. And it would be understandable if that were the case. They all have to be pulling in the same direction and its been amazing that they have been for all these years, truly amazing. They're only human, and the whole U2 machine is a big machine afterall, I know its work of a different kind to the likes you and I are used to, but its work nonetheless, and travelling, dealing with press, and fans who wont leave you alone and all that sort of thing, plus several hours of physical exertion on-stage and then no doubt much more than that trying to keep in shape for being on stage etc - it all has to take its toll especially the older you get.

I'm going to stay positive and hopeful, I said it the other night... Bono's not exactly the type to be sitting round the house watching endless episodes of 'Homes Under The Hammer' for years on end, so hopefully between the four of them they'll get restless a little way down the line and will plan the next adventure.

Always love hearing your recordings be it U2 or Simple Minds and probably some others too - thanks for your efforts and thanks for being kind enough to share also.

And yep fully agree, they need some downtime. It's not like we haven't got 40+ years worth of history to busy ourselves with or a ton of other great bands / artists to listen to as well right?
  8. The pre-show playlist was all farewell songs, made me start crying even before the show. “It’s the end of the world as we know it”. Unbelievable show, I’m pretty shaken

  10. Does anyone know what their contract stipulates as far as future albums/tours, etc? Hoping for more, but who knows what the future holds. Been a fucking amazing 40 years, and I've loved them for almost 30 now.

Well done to the band, and a big well done for the u2start crew, who have made such an impressive resource and community for the U2 fan family ?????

  11. Definitely the best show on this tour, in my opinion - the atmosphere was insane. I cannot wait to see this on dvd. A very emotional end - I noticed Bono saying something to Larry at the end of COBL and they both smiled at each other before taking the ovation. They couldn’t have picked a better place to end this era of the band
