I am planning on having a complete blackout of any U2 news regarding setlists once they begin rehearsals as I don't want there to be any spoilers and hope for some surprises... My first U2 show was Melbourne 2 on Vertigo and I kept right up with the setlists and knew pretty much what they were going to play and in which order (obviously bar a couple of rotational spots). Does knowing what they're going to play spoil it for you guys? For example, they played Kite and I can't help but imagine if I didn't know they were going to play Kite and they pulled it out near the end it would have taken the whole experience to a whole new level.
Similar things when I saw them at Melbourne 1 on 360. I knew most of what they were couple to play and in what order. Again, a couple of rotational spots were surprises (we got Bad and Mercy).
Anyways, to my question, do you think it's a good idea to avoid setlist spoilers? Obviously i know it will be very similar to JT17 but I wouldn't mind avoiding any massive spoilers (if there are any) this time around. Thoughts?
I stayed spoiler-free for the EU leg in 2015 since my first show was Amsterdam, I only had to avoid a couple of gigs (Turin 1&2 and Amsterdam 1,2&3 - so similar to your blackout until Melbourne). Being a mod from the world's biggest U2 fansite made it a tiny bit harder to stay spoiler free, but it was SO worth it - October and Zooropa were MASSIVE surprirses for me (apart from Magnificent which was a one off and hence a surprise for everyone, spoiler-free or not). So yeah, definitely go for it.

Well, mission accomplished: you just busted a myth for me.
