Joshua Tree Tour 2019
Legs (1): New Zealand, Australia and Asia
Shows: 15

  1. The first time that’s on u2.com/tour, its also on ticketmaster. European time the first presales are midnight to 5am Tuesday.

  2. Congratulations, folks. I may be far from the area, but I’m so glad that JT’s coming to town.

  3. You likely be able to use them on different ticketing platforms as they don't communicate with each other

Happy to have been able to share some of it.
  5. Not yet....evil laugh.
  6. You’ve made a great contribution. Honestly there was dates mentioned months ago that have fell in line with today’s announcement. Maybe in the interest of being cautious others won’t agree with what I’m about to say but I think the information shared by yourself (u2songs) can be taken in the future as more than rumour. What I mean is yes it’s unconfirmed, unofficial if you like but the information isn’t a lie, it is based on sources that are sharing information that is entirely credible and the only way it doesn’t materialise is if plans change as opposed to it being nonsense from the start.
  7. So Perth only will get one date now, is that correct?

Yep, & late November is shoulder season I'd presume. So prices shouldn't skyrocket. They may even come down, as we're still 6 months away.

The long haul flight routes are quite unusual for people from the US/Europe, who are doing both Oz/NZ & Asia. No one airline will fly it, which often adds to the cost. Although the airline alliances helps.

Open jaws, say Europe into Brisbane / Perth back to Europe are probably a alright, it's just the unusual routes that include Asia as well which may skyrocket.

Same for me, doing SYD-JAPAN-MUC/ZRH-SYD. Prices have yoyo'ed a lot, going up 50%, before dropping a bit.

So I'll probably book soon after I get my U2 tickets for Japan (though I have no idea what return date to book because of Brexit).

I'd probably look at booking the long hauls. The domestic flights, I don't know. No great rush I suppose, there may be specials on too.

We don't just publish anything - because regardless of what we say or ask, people do take this information and book plans with it, and make plans with it. And when it doesn't happen people can get quite upset with you. We don't want a reputation of publishing garbage. We get no money for anything, we make nothing, so we have nothing to gain by just driving traffic in. And we don't just listen to random sources off the street. I've been doing a U2 website for 25 years, we're the oldest one that has been continuously published, even though we've jumped around locations from time to time.

    - I give more weight to material I know comes from sources with known connections to the band even if I can't share who it is coming from. And these aren't just random people. I consider many of them friends in real life as well, outside of the internet informant game.
    - I put far more weight still in the information if they've got known connections, and have shared good information in the past.
    - I wait until I have confirmation from more than one source unless I know the source is 100%
    - I would rather wait and get it right than be the first one to publish something and get it wrong.
    - I ask for permission to share information. If I don't get permission, I don't share it.
    - I listen and I talk with others, I sound things off of my peers to say 'does this make sense'? Remy - thank you for the ears. Same to some of the rest of you who have heard from me on that front...
    - Finally I don't care how good the source is or has been. If I don't believe it I'll wait. I was given the release date for "Songs of Experience" eight months before it was released, but because I didn't know the source at the time I waited to post it until I was able to confirm it.

But at the end of the day, until it's published on an official site, we're still going to label it a rumour, right up to the bitter end...
