    Yes we have some great doctors and nurses, but our healthcare system only qualifies as 'good' to 'really good'. Ihave friends and coworkers that have left the U.S. for healthcare and gotten better treatment a lot cheaper than I was able to get for the same medical issues. Wasn't it Norway that wanted all their students studying in the U.S. to return because they described our healthcare system as basically sub-par?

    As someone living in the U.S. but not born here, I don´t understand why people here settle for a system that bankrupts you if you get cancer or other serious illness. There´s no ¨freedom¨ or ¨choice¨ on having the best doctors or hospitals in the world if you can´t afford even an emergency visit, even with a crappy employer-based insurance. Insulin can cost you $400 a bottle, then you have copays, deductibles, hidden fees, etc. Everyone here is one emergency away from bankruptcy. This shouldn´t be ok, every other modern country has universal access to health services.

    I don’t pretend to know it all. I do know Norway is one of the most affluent countries, if not, THE most affluent country in the World, so there’s that. Another point is that they don’t have 330 million people, they have about 5.38 million. They may be healthier as well with access to healthier foods? There is an America here that is spoiled and eats whatever they want and, in turn, gains weight and does not take care of themselves. And then there is an America who doesn’t make that much money and eats McDonald and fast food restaurants all the time and that can’t be healthy either. I don’t know how Norway is at all but I would be willing to bet it’s not like America.
  12. Good point about Universal Healthcare. It's easy to do when the scale is limited. It was born here in Canada in a place called Saskatchewan which has a communal ethos and is relatively small. It's harder to move that to a larger population.

    I've always thought that in the US isn't incumbambant upon the people to support those without health insurance? Isn't it a great source of pride for those citizens who rally together for a loved one?

    Is anyone atm being denied care during the pandemic because of lack of paperwork?
