1. Cos the sound on most of them are very clear, I just thought if u went to a concert with recording equipment the result would be poor and it would be all muffled.

That isn't true, the good recording equipment can make great recordings. They just pick up the good sound from multiple ways and edit the audience noises out of it.

Well, Bono's ear piece is transmitted wireless, as are the sounds of all the other band members. With the right equipment you can pick up those signals and just record it.

Other soundboard recordings are sometimes made by people who can access the sounddesk with Joe O'Herlihy, U2's sound man. Maybe they plugin their recording equipment into it or something.
  5. impressive. i hate ear-piece recordings. makes Bono sound so detached from the band. also hate how recorders edit out the crowd completley on soundboards. i want a bootleg to make me feel like im there. its strange on bootlegs not to hear the crowd go wild during Streets (pre vertigo tour) when the lights come on

They don't edit it out, it just isn't heard or recorded on the sound desk.

BTW: First bootleg of this show coming up in 10 minutes. And as a bonus I decided to put it on U2startcontent.com, our high speed upcoming premium server. Free to use for everyone for this download, as a test.
