  1. Following on from the topic of how to make HTDAAB better,

    given the controversy and obviously varying opinions on the album's quality, what songs do members think will make it through to the next tour intact?

    I think we'll have:-

    Regular (every concert or pretty much)
    1. Vertigo
    2. City of Blinding Lights

    Majority (there a lot but dropped periodically, perhaps for each other)
    1. Sometimes You Can't Make It...
    2. All Because of You
    3. Original of the Species

    Episodic (occasional appearances)
    1. Love and Peace
    2. Miracle Drug
    3. Yahweh (probably as a snippet, like Wake up Dead Man)
    4. Fast Cars (every now and then like Party Girl or such)

    The others won't be there because they either barely or never got played ont he tour supporting the album so are unlikely to make an appearance now.

    And I'd love it if they played Smile or Are You Gonna Wait Forever

  2. I would love to see Love And Peace appear again because that was awesome but that would likely lead again to the whole political aspect of the show and that would be repetitive so I doubt it. =(

Vertigo City and Sometimes will probably appear regularly (although I think Kite could easily replace Sometimes at any show and have just as emotional a performance), it would be great to keep Love and Peace. Live debuts of Smile or Mery would be wonderful. I don't really think any of the other songs are worth keeping around for the next tour.
  4. I hope u2 put Miracle drug into your majority list, its a good song but not too good live but would still like to hear it. I wish they would play one step closer at some point many of you dont like it but I think its pretty decent. I encourage more variety in the setlist. Im starting to get bored of hearing BTBS and sunday bloody sunday.
  5. * Vertigo => Well i think that will stay, just like Elevation almost was played at every concert from Vertigo-tour... And that's ok with me cause that can rock the place
    * Miracle Drug => Hmm not so many times i think
    * Sometimes => Well yeah if they switch that with Kite
    * Love And Peace => maybe again before Sunday Bloody Sunday, that was a nice combination !
    * City Of Blinding Lights => yeah but snippet then... "Ooh you look sooo beautiful tonight..." i'd like that
    * Al Because Of you => hmm no i don't think so...
    * A man and a woman => Nope
    * Crumbs from your tabe => Noo !!
    * One step closer => maybe but i don't hope for it...
    * Original of the species => I hope so ! sooo beautiful with an orchestra
    * Yahweh => Yes please
    And ofcourse i'd like the debut of Smile and Mercy !
  6. vertigo is a must - no question!
    i dunno bout the rest, maybe s.y.c.m.i.o.y.o. and o.o.t.s. in a little acoustic set would be nice.
    id say love and peace and c.o.b.l. will remain also.
    id be far more more interested in mercy, smile, and are you gonna wait forever. but sadly i cant see it happening.
  7. they should definitely play 'crumbs from your table'... my favorite song on the album after 'vertigo', 'sometimes' and 'city of blinding lights'

  8. I think it would be a mistake to sing Vertigo again. Bono doesn't have voice for that song. He couldn't sing 'I can feel' in Cannes---his voice was breaking. He's 47! He'll be almost 50 when the next tour will start. I think they should start being a bit quiter... Vertigo was the last great tour, I fear.

    i think bono adjusts the singing in songs very well to suit his voice that is slowly falling apart... just look at bad from the elevation tour to the vertigo tour.... much, much better... he has his little tricks that adjust his voice to still not be giving 100% but still sounding absolutely awesome!!! he'll find a way to manage with 'vertigo' on the next tour don't you worry
  10. Vertigo. City Of Blinding Lights Sometimes, and Original of The Species, and Miracle drug, shoould be played often. Love and Peace not every show, but sometimes.
    These songs rocked the last tour!
  11. City of Blinding lights is great live..should be in it. And Vertigo rocks..it will definitely be in it, maybe it will replace Elevation.

    Furhter on, I'd like to see Smile and Are You Gonna Wait Forever. Original of the Species is great too, you can compare it a bit with WOWY.

    I think U2 will play:
    Vertigo (Sometimes Vertigo...sometimes Elevation is a possibility)
    City Of Blinding Lights (maybe as an encore?)
    Sometimes ( Because of Bono's father...I think they'll play it a lot)
    Original Of Species (Bono said that this is the best song of the album... think they'll play it more too)
