1. Hi
Wow what a great site!!! Have a question.Which show has the most powerful version of Bad on it both vocally and instrument wise? Any help would be appreciated

    ps This site rocks!!!
  2. Howdy and welcome aboard!

Personally, and this is just my opinion, but I don't think you can top the 1985 Live Aid performance at Wembley. Most people see it as the performance that really introduced U2 to the world. Everything about it is magnificent. Absolutely legendary. Superb. It's a MUST have for any U2 fan. The set from that day is available on this site but the soundboard recording isn't very clear (the guitar is awfully soft). I recently picked up the Live Aid DVD and the sound is much improved overall. I've recorded mp3's of Bad and Sunday Bloody Sunday off this DVD and would gladly send them to you and to Remy if he'd like to replace the old recordings.

As for anything other than Live Aid, I'd recommend the performance from Dortmund, Germany 1984. Very passionate vocals and the song doesn't run too long. Just the right length, IMHO. I'm trying to get ahold of the Joshua Tree gig from 6/27/87 in Dublin, simply because of Bono's vocal performance here. Holy crap talk about power! There's a video of it on youtube, but unfortunately the performance is interrupted in parts by interviews...despite that you need to see it:

Anyway, I'll gladly upload U2's Live Aid set to yousendit or someplace before the night's out. I'll reply under this thread.

    Cheers,
    - Jim
  3. Thank you for these. This was the best as it was driven for many different reasons, all of which helped to make the hair on your head stand up when you hear it.
    Great stuff indeed
  4. Thanks so much for the info and the songs!!!!
  5. Bad from 1990-01-10 Rotterdam is worth checking out too. My favourite version: it runs for almost 8mins (and I like long versions ), great recording-quality, Bono's vocals are topclass, Edge plays a fabulous variation at the end and it includes beautiful snippets of All I Want Is You and Norwegian Wood.

That All I Want Is You snippet is the best snippet of that song anytime.
