  1. Hey maybe you guys can help. I'm looking to buy an mp3 player, ipod or whatever (yes i dont have one, yes i know your shaking your head about it ) and im not sure whether to get the 8GB or 4GB.

    First and foremost I will be filling it up with U2 and then move over to my other favorites in Coldplay, Robbie Williams, Killers, Etc. I haven't really had a running count at it but how many U2 songs (minus live and unofficial mixes) do you guys usually have? Would 4GB be enough?

  2. For all the official stuff 4 GB will be enough i guess...I've the 20 GB U2Ipod and it's almost totaly filled with U2 material....so it's up to you what you want. If you want to have only official songs you dont need more than 4 GB, if you want to add all your favorite Bootlegs, you'l need a lot more than 4 GB
  3. I think you can better get 8 GB. I've had 4 GB with my previous player, a mini iPod but it's full before you can blink your eyes. Especially with U2 stuff since there's so much, with all the albums, a few DVD audio rips, a few rarities and some bootlegs you probably don't have enough space left for all your other favorite music.

    Plus, if you buy 4 GB now and you regret it, you can't just buy yourself another one, I advise you to do the right thing in one time You will not regret it!
  4. I can only really talk iPod as I don't know much about the other player types, but if you've got the cash, get the "video" iPod (30 or 80 GB). If you have even twentieth (ie around 50) of the bootlegs here you'll soon fill about 10GB worth of player. That's before you try adding video and photo's to it, or any other band's music!

    On the other hand, the nano (2, 4 & 8 GB) is much cheaper and very convenient for carrying around. Just expect to have to be more selective with your U2-choices (mind you, half the fun is making the playlists....)

    Yeah the video iPod is totally cool but really expensive and it's huge, however, it's working fine for over a year now, I love it. Though the 8 GB nano will be a great alternative I think.

    Agreed...I don't have an iPod but my mp3 player have only 2GB...It's too little for all my U2 songs(official and boots)...I think that 8GB is perfect because you can put all or the most importent U2 stuff and other songs too

    4 GB holds 1,000 Songs-
    8 GB holds 2,000 Songs
    Just depends on how many songs you want to put in it and how much you want to spend!!

    For me, I wanted to put my whole library of music, so I had to spend!!!

  8. I would go for the 8GB one. Got a 3GB myself, with all the official stuff on it and some bootlegs. Sometimes, I need to delete a bootleg to bring another on it. With 8GB, you won't have these problems.
  9. I only have 1 GB, but it's what I need for a mix of 10 bootlegs (200 songs aprox.).
    I don't have any studio song, only Live Mp3 from U2Start

    If i could, I would buy a 8 Gb, I think it's the perfect size for U2 (5 GB) and the other artists (3 GB). It's perfect...

    Oh yes, this is logical... But the best often is the most expensive, so it's not so simple as you said...
    I would like a 200 GB iPod, but even if it exsisted it would be tooooooooooooo much expensive for me...
    Anyway you are right!

    Ofcourse, but most of the time, eg an ipod of 8GB is not SO much more expansive than one of 4GB
    I think, if you're going to buy an ipod, then buy a good one immediately, so then i think ofcourse about the view and price-quality relation, but also about the size of the memory, and that must be big enough
