1. This is turning into a big cash grab. Roger Waters should take a lesson from Disney at this point, time to put The Wall in the vault. Tour another big album, or a few at a time. Animals, Wish You Were Here, Meddle, etc. I'd love to see Echoes done in a huge stadium.

Yes!! Echoes would be great on big stadium. Just like in 1987
  3. It's still great for those who, like me, missed their chance (aka quick sold-outs) when the tour hit their zones
  4. And I agree about WYWH and Echoes, but these shows wouldn't be nearly as impressive visually as The Wall.
  5. The Wall will always have been the most accessible and easy cash grab, as Alex said...because it's the only one that lends itself to that visual of a production, obviously. Echoes would be fantastic- even Animals, like you said- but I doubt Waters would sell out an arena on Echoes let alone a stadium to be honest.

Maybe I'm hilariously wrong but I just don't see that album attracting that much attention. Even if he did Wish You Were Here he would need to have a greatest hits set built in.

I just sort of hope he goes away for a long time and comes back with something new. Even if it sucks its more of an effort than touring on a 30 or 40 year old album.
  6. What pisses me about the The Wall tour/setlist/spectacle is that it doesn't feature any of the other big Pink Floyd stuff I'd really love to see once. The Wall is a masterpiece but it's hardly the best PF stuff around. Shine On You Crazy Diamond, Echoes (the song), Wish You Were Here (the song), The Great Gig or Sheeps are songs that I'd kill to see/hear live.

I always have Brit Floyd (December 12th) though
  7. Damn, this is one of the best things ever produced by human kind.

I'd argue that The Wall is their greatest achievement in terms of a body of work though. You have to remember that in the old days when The Floyd would tour, they would perform a certain set front to back (whether it be Animals, Eclipse (precursor to Dark Side, Dark Side itself, or even The Wall) and maybe do a greatest hits set afterwards. They never did that with The Wall, because it was long enough to make up a whole show. PF has always been a band known for creating whole works rather than collections of songs, which is shown by the extremely small amount of singles they put out. I'd say Dark Side is up there with it, but The Wall, creatively, it's an understatement to call it anything short of amazing. If he came out and started playing other stuff to me it would be an insult to The Wall.

You obviously have your own opinion and a well thought one, but it's just a matter of taste. The Wall is a masterpiece, as I acknowledged in my previous post, BUT it doesn't have their best particular songs nor it's my favorite album. It could be argued that it might be their best "body work" as you said, but it also could be argued that it's full of fillers

I'd take The Dark Side or WYWH any day over The Wall. WYWH is just the exact opposite. Only 5 songs long, against The Wall's almost 30 songs tracklist. But all of WYWH's songs are 5 stars, while only 10 of The Wall's songs are equal to or above 4 stars in my opinion.
  10. Fair enough. You know, as much as Dark Side has become one of those albums that all of the posers wear t-shirts of and claim to love, I have no shame in saying it's my favourite PF record. It's so mellow and spacey, pyschadelic rock mixed with jazz. Unbeatable combo.
  11. Those PF shirts. Very annoying.

Yeah, forget what the mainstream kiddos say. It's THE masterpiece, and I don't mind if 10 or 10.000.000 guys carry it on a t-shirt without having listened to it.
