I realise that I'm being massively opinionated (sorry...), but I would urge you not to watch Hannibal Rising - it's a couple of hours you'll never see again. Why not watch, I dunno, Se7en again or something..?

haha, no worries. I think one can hardly NOT be subjective when it comes to movies
haven't seen hannibal rising btw, surprisingly, even though I've looked forward to it back then.. suddenly I'd lost interest. guess because of the guy who played hannibal (see, subjective again lol).

Speaking of serial killer movies, I saw Zodiac for the first time last week and thought that it was superb. The main problem with Hannibal Rising (and the Hannibal novel) was that it gave Lecter a reason for his cannibalistic tendencies. Why couldn't he just have decided to try it and ended up liking the taste? THAT'S frightening, that is. The fella who played Hannibal in Hannibal Rising was also in a French movie called A Very Long Engagement which is well worth checking out. IMHO...
  4. U23D - three times

Was Der Untergang the one about the end of Hitler's reign from his perspective? But yeah, Thewlis was excellent. I was pretty impressed with the whole film, just thoroughly depressed afterwards...

yeah, hitler's last days in the bunker. also a really well made movie, good actors (bruno ganz, just... wow), but damn shocking, frightening and sad.

ha, thewlis, never seen that guy act badly

    The Island of Doctor Moreau?

  8. that movie was just plain weird... guess an actor can't get more out of that.
on the other hand though, one of his best performances was in starkey imo

  9. I assume he's not heard of it

New thriller with the bloke from Transformers/Indiana Jones. Shia La Beouf.

Thanks for getting back to me Jeremy. Sounds good. Shame I won't get to see it...

i haven't heard one good thing about Hannibal Rising, a part of me just wants to see it to see it. Se7en would be undoubtedly a better 2 hours

    Thanks Dan

Jeremy, whenever you talk about film and I sound perplexed, assume I don't know about the film because my knowledge of cinema is terrible
